I’m an awkward cut corner man myself.
THE BEST! In our house it’s literally a race to snag the four corners.
But is it the same style?
I remember eating a ton of Rosati’s pizza when I lived in Chicago as a kid. Is that tavern style?
That crust is too thick and it’s cut too large. Rosati’s isn’t really a tavern style.
This needs to be subdivided into Cubs gameday and non gameday. There are some great summer patios in the Wrigleyville area, but they are a shitshow on game days.
Agree. I also love the prevalence of sidewalk tables for bars/restaurants, especially in Southport, Roscoe Village, Lincoln Square, Bucktown, etc. What a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
All favorites aside I think there’s one thing we can all agree on. Not much beats a Chicago summer. From restaurants, bars, and of course golf. It’s truly a great place to be in the warmer months.
From May-October, it’s literally the best city in the world. I won’t accept any arguments.
The battle is that you have to survive November-April (February is so so brutal - especially those mornings waiting on the windy L platform) - but that makes the summer even more special.
Couldn’t agree more. Although standing on the L platform in February will forsure wake you up in the morning
Bavettes is the only place I’ve ever been so full/satisfied that I nearly threw up. I also love places that have “Old” dark room ambiance, even if its new.
Maple & Ash is probably just as good, especially if you prefer the more modern setting.
Also I had Small Cheval last night. Just wanted to drop that in here.
Twin Anchors, sneaky good rib joint in Chicago.
Also, no talk about Blues Music? Kingston Mines, good blues and bbq in the same place. Priceless.
Armand’s was my go to for pizza, I grew up going to the Elmwood Park location. Hasn’t been the same my last few visits home, I feel like the quality dropped since they opened other locations. I also think of Russell’s Barbecue fairly often. I miss the great variety of restaurants up there, Orlando is pretty shitty in comparison.
Never had the ribs but I really like smoque and green street meats for BBQ. I am more of a brisquet guy TBH.
Crust is too thick. Vito and Nick’s on the south side and Pat’s on the north side do the best tavern style. I will also accept D’Agostino’s and Barnaby’s Northbrook as authentic good tavern pizza. This is the true Chicago pizza and I’ll stack it up against any pizza, anywhere.
I was wondering if @Randy was going to mention this fine moment in Cubs/Reds history.
Imagine thinking you could take on Kyle Farnsworth. Idiot.
What about Michaels at Irving and broadway? Sneaky good pizza and bar food
