That said, point taken. My earlier post (not the one five minutes ago) wasn’t even constructive, so shame on me. Will do better in the future.
so, like, don’t listen maybe and vote with your feet instead of uneccessary negativity?
Good on ya. @iacas usually comes around not that i’m judge jury executioner.
Here for this kind of dissent and conversation. All opinions welcomed!!
I think this is worth a listen. Watch the doc first. I had watched it when it first came out so helped to refresh the memory of the characters.
Great list, hard for me to pick between temple of doom and last crusade but I think I have to go with “the penitent man shall pass”…
Ouch, if I have to watch that first, man, I’ll have to skip it. Just a time issue. NLU’s putting out MORE content and because I’m not driving (to work, etc.) much these days, I just don’t have much time to listen to podcasts. When I’m home I’m working (doing what I can, including the daily COVID drills/lessons) or hanging with the family.
Thanks for the tip.
I’m in the same boat, and end up bingeing them every so often. Watched King of Kong and man it was cringe, the pod was great, but I see the issue of time committment
Haha, yeah that only works if you have no life.
Ha ha, yeah, maybe.
A lot of what I do when I’m home is reading or writing, so unless any audio playing is just music, you can’t really read or write while watching or listening to a documentary or a podcast. So driving tends to be my only “podcast” time. Never mind finding time to listen AND watch a documentary.
Road trips are great… I catch up on so much stuff. But no road trips lately.
I don’t always agree with @iacas but I feel his pain on time commitment with the pods lately. Mine is from not driving as much. I can’t listen when I’m working because I want to concentrate.
I skipped Kong as well. Not everything is for everyone. It’s cool. So much good content from this space that I rarely skip anything.
There’s your problem, just gotta concentrate on the pod instead!
My clients probably wouldn’t like that!
It feels awful skipping content but I’m in the same predicament. I listen to podcasts while driving so I’m having to pick and choose. A lot of the 90 minute deep dives into careers are getting shelved right now for me. I’ll probably come back to them later. I like the Kong and Action movie stuff because it’s a light hearted escape from such a difficult time right now.
Yeah and there is very little I won’t listen to. Just may take more time. Plus, and I know this is shocking, I listen to other podcasts
ALERT
Ronin is available for free on Tubi right now. Watching while working from home this afternoon. Good flick, and Katarina Witt on ice is chefs kiss
Fascinating to me. I believe TR helps neutralize low handicap privilege. Usually i am a fan of anything that favors high handicap but in this case i hate TR. fully agree course helped @djpie ‘earn’ his victory. Although never cracking the band On his stack is just the best flex ever.
if and when you watch the doc the podcast on it was much better than the movie one in terms of sound quality and in content. granted i liked both but i laughed out loud a bunch of times at the kong podcast. i also agree its a little tough with two people in a room and then one on the phone, the flow is just not as good.
Just caught this pod. Loved the nostalgia.
One point they didn’t mention was the absolute need for the gratuitous mention of the film title in the script. It was often joined by a dramatic score and zooming closeup on the actor.
Glaring omission from @MerchCzar and @Tron when discussing their prominent relatives. They left out Clarence Carter. An absolute legend.
A few takes
Not enough chatter about Broken Arrow. I’d buy a double DVD set of that and Face/Off in a heartbeat.
Anyone who is a fan of action movies and hasnt watched MacGruber needs to. It’s the perfect action movie comedy.
For those have seen MacGruber and the latest Mission Impossible, please join me in a class action lawsuit because MI Fallout is 70% ripped off of MacGruber.
