Man, Miller’s Crossing is so good
This 100 birdies thing has me shook @Randy considering I made 30-something last year in 60ish rounds. I have a decent cap but just don’t make that many birds.
Golf Goals
Shoot under par twice (shot even 3 times last year and could have gone deep all 3 times)
Get to a zero
Average between 10-12 GIR
Physical Goals - hoping we can hit the gym later on
Get back down to 180/185 (currently 195)
Increase frequency lifting (elbow issues)
Personal Goals
Spend more time with my kids (one of which is into golf too, she’s awesome)
Be more present (less scrolli-osis)
Hammer work goals (in sales)
Such a great movie that doesn’t get mentioned a whole lot. My mom watched it religiously, which got me watching it all the time.
So stretching / flexbility was one of my main goals as well. I’ve started to get into Yoga with Adriene on youtube on a daily basis (8 days and counting so not really a habit yet but on the way). The stretch is great but also learning more about what muscles are engaged in different positions has been super helpful.
She has a wide variety of 30 day challenges on her channel
she also has a golf episode that has a good focus on hamstrings, midline and shoulders
Let it be known that Calgary is one of my favorite cities on the planet, and these photos made me very nostalgic. Thank you.
got big into doing Yoga w/ Adriene videos over the summer. super easy way to find 30 minutes of relaxation in the day. my GF wasn’t as big a fan because she felt the videos were too much about stretching and very slow compared to any vinyasa flow classes you may have ever been to where yoga is bit more intense and you’re pouring sweat by the end.
that said - this arms and abs video by her was one of my favorites. 20 minute circuit that kicks your ass.
Stole your stretching goal for 3 Reasons.
- Like you said, easy and its literally 10 minutes. I waste 10 minutes in my day doing way more unproductive things.
- Stretching will force me to go into the little “Home Gym” my wife and I have thrown together. On days I am supposed to workout, the battle of getting down there is already down because of this goal. I assume this goal will lead me to more consistent workouts.
- Last year in March and April when Lockdown first hit, I started doing Yoga (first time in my life) to increase my core strength and flexibility for golf. I plan on using this 10 minutes to also incorporate some of these yoga poses I haven’t done in forever
Totally get that and I think that’s why I’ve connected well with her videos. I’m looking for something to do at the start of the day. Helps get a good stretch and helps with getting a good relaxing start vs waking up and going directly to home office and reading the emails that came in that night.
Will check out her abs section in February for sure. My core has been awful and probably the main reason for my back pain so this would be a great thing to try
Look…of course. Bit of a brag but it’s the truth.
It’s funny, my friend who is a member just sees it as his local course and doesn’t get overawed by playing there.
I, on the other hand, could barely take a divot the first time I played there because I was so nervous of messing the place up.
From what I saw over one round with you 30 something in 60 rounds has me shook…
Great pod - tough scene for @Tron with the “so what’s the plan for the hair” comment from the wife
but personally:
2021 Goals
- Golf:
- Break 80 in 2021
- Stretch goal – Break 80 by first day of May
- Physical
- Walk trails at Whitewater center at least 60 times
- Stretch goal – Do yoga everyday
- Personal
- Teach myself Illustrator / Affinity Design
- Stretch goal – Begin habit of hand writing personalized thank you notes (at least 10 in 2020)
You must be an absolute nightmare to play chicken against.
I will totally build you a flexibilty/mobility plan for you if you want! What specifically do you want to improve?
Anyone else is welcome too! Just hit me up!
I’ll give a 3rd plug for Adrienne. She’s great. Her neck and shoulders video is one of my gotos because that’s where I keep all my tension, which has been a lot because COVID.
She says “relax the shoulders” probably 3 mins into every video and i forget until that point every time. Some day i’ll learn…maybe
@Tron @Randy, next time you guys need a hand with the agronomic talk/analogies, i’d be glad to help because they need some work. It was a good effort though
I use one called ROMWOD. It’s a slow stretch and I’ve noticed a big difference in my lower back and hamstrings. It has a 7-day free trial. Worth giving it a shot!
