Tourist Sauce Season 7: Michigan Wine and Dine

Eastbay reference belongs in the nostalgia thread. What a throwback.

I think the fact that this thread, which is about this season of Tourist Sauce, spun into an appreciation for Big @Randy and the path he’s taken, into a lot of people sharing similar stories, back into a roast of Randy for the collegiate sportswear he chose back in the day is so good.

Many people have said that they’d share this episode of Tourist Sauce to someone who wanted to know what NLU was about. I’d share the last 500 posts of this thread with anyone who wanted to know what The Nest was all about.

It may not be Eastbay yet, but I will now go start listing random CBB players in the Nostalgia Thread. Come join everyone

A different version of this game is when my friends and I list random MLB players from the early 00s. Roger Cedeno is a favorite of mine

As a high school basketball coach in Wisconsin, we still use Eastbay for apparel at times.

Love that quote, but I’ll just add that I’d be $50 Rogan is really quoting Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society quoting Thoreau than he is actually remembering a reading of Thoreau here. But the sentiment holds.

Rogan was inspired by John Keating, who was inspired by Thoreau. Thoreau? A time traveler who became a huge Pink Floyd fan.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that on a balmy December day in Des Moines, Iowa during Big @Randy Week, I was randomly paired with a gentleman from Columbus, OH and introduced him to greenside shots with a hybrid.

Just finished the episode and really all I can say is “thank you”. Hands down my favorite episode of the series. I see a lot of myself in Big Randy as a 27 year old business major still trying to find my way. Thank you, @Randy, for being open and honest in the episode. Thank you for being daring enough to not be beholden to societal pressures and pursuing what makes you happy rather than what society says you should do. Your path and the journey down that path gives me and clearly a lot of other people fuel to keep finding our own paths for our lives. I could go on but I’ve taken up enough characters. May we all learn to live as free as Randy chasing Timmy around at recess.

Anyone else find themselves vibing to the song in the closing credits? Artist name is indoorcat.
Props to @djpie and @justine on the find as they supposedly have 473 monthly listeners (now 474) on Spotify. That song (Morningbright) has <1k plays on Spotify…we gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers.

@djpie shoukd get a Grammy for taking such a bad song and making it so fucking good in that intro. That part is incredible and that song is awful.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. What is the music for the OPENING credits, where there’s a chorus of people…I know that I know it (or at least I think I do) but I can’t place it.

I’ve replayed the first 2 minutes of the gearhart episode to hear the song playing over the drone footage like 50 times. If I was asked to describe the feeling of romantic under oath, music/shot combo is my answer.

I remember this in the live chat, but this song just came up on an Instagram story I was watching about Southern Pines, and it sounds damn near the same
