For shits and giggles I looked to see what flights to Melbourne would cost for my birthday in November.
Premium Economy - TEN FUCKING GRAND*

Guess I’m never going to Australia.

Not through the episode yet but its cracking me up after months of planning, a 24 hour travel day, a low key acclimation day at a par 3, and plenty of cold beers….and after all that the boys are debating rules and handicaps on the range of the first real course. My OCD ass would have had a powerpoint presentation locking down all the rules and format structure by Thanksgiving at the latest!
Perhaps this is why I have so few friends haha.
My shin splints flared up after watching the boys on their morning jog.
Helluva first episode.
Australia was always too fucking far for my tastes, but god damn it, this season is going to make me need to go.
I am actually thinking I need to just go to Australia solo late this summer , on a lark, play some golf
Yeah I see tickets down in the $1,500 range.
Economy flights between LAX/SFO and Sydney are typically AU$1500-2000 return.
@MerchCzar does that Titleist bag you were carrying not have the interior access zipper inside the long side pocket? Open it and you can see the bottom of the inside of the bag. Most bags I’ve owned have had that…
Takes the whole “empty the bag out to turn it over” situation, out of the equation.
Does this look like a guy thinking about internal zipper layouts?
Instantly an all-time GIF
I’m sure anyone wanting to make the journey down under would find plenty of willing sherpas
Get some credit card points!
I could get a non-stop round trip out of SFO in late August for under $1200.
Who wants to go to Australia?
Shit, that almost makes paying $1.4M for 900sqft worth it!
Whoa whoa whoa, let’s not get ridiculous with the hyperbole.
$1.4m would get you AT LEAST 1100 sq ft.
The aforementioned reveal when you crest the hill of the par 5 10th at Torrey Pines North. Snapped this today at sunset after hitting a 3 wood to the right of the green from the top of the hill.
Not as far downhill but same gist. The same wind direction too - straight downwind in the morning, straight into the wind in the evening. Totally different hole depending on tee box and time of day.
Golf on the ocean is undefeated. Excited for episode 2!
Love TP so much. Last time I was down there I took a twilight time to try and race around the North (my 2nd time on it) and had to wait behind the slowest threesome in the world as the daylight faded. They finally bugged off after finishing 15, and not to be deterred, I finished 15 and then hit what I think was a perfect drive up 16 and then wandered around in darkness for about 15 minutes looking for it before giving up. I saw some guys hitting glow balls off the tee on 12 as I was walking toward the parking lot, and instantly regretted not having those in my bag.
I mean, if you psychos wanna sit in regular economy for 20+ hours, be my guest.
I honestly don’t know how people physically do it. I start getting uncomfortable and fidgety at 5-ish hours.
Step 1: buy ticket
Step 2: use points to upgrade ticket
