I feel like I’m gaining #perspective throughout this entire process, as much as I complain about The Bull it could be worse
Honestly the biggest problem with The Bull is that it (occasionally) gets lumped in with the other destination courses in the state.
Now that there are some real heavy hitters around, it’s terrible in comparison.
Back when folks were traveling to Kohler and wanted to tack on one non-resort round it was a fine course. There are just a lot better options now.

#10 @ Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course
400+ yard par 4. Blind uphill landing area for the drive. Anything longer than 220 yards and you can kiss that sucker goodbye into the forest with an extremely steep downhill drop off past the landing area that slopes hard to the left. Any shot shape moving right to left off the tee is also banished into the shadow realm.
If you survive the tee shot, the 2nd shot is a tough mid to long iron in over a canyon to an elevated green with the extreme back to front slope.
Just a super demanding hole at a public county course. This is where pace of play goes to die after making the turn.

If we’re being honest, despite being a kick-ass course. #10 at Erin Hills is a kick in the teeth for anyone who hits less than 260 off the tee. You can range from 3w at the top of the hill to 9iron at the bottom of the hill for your second, for a tiny green with a giant false edge.
Wish I could have seen it in the Biarritz days.

Great hole. Have played it exactly once. Hit a great drive left of the bunker, followed by a flushed iron that landed just short. Chipped to ~3 feet for a comfy par.

I’ll throw #10 Blackwolf Run Meadow Valleys in there as well. As you can see by picture 1, and the name, most of the course is in open meadows. However you have one hole that had to have the green recycled to accommodate the Championship Hole #1 (red circle is the original hole), while also playing in a different direction to build the Meadow Valleys course.
The hole plays tight thru a narrow chute to a terrible green when terrible breaks and bounces seem to be everywhere. Also plays terrible in the original configuration, one of the few holes Pete Dye has admitted he missed on. Only redeeming quality is the delicious free hot dog or brat at the turn.

I don’t mind the Champ hole, playing up to the elevated green is cool, and while the green isn’t great, it’s not terrible from that angle.
The MV hole sucks though.
