No evidence to be found per Rick Shefscik. He says architect was a Vardon (not Harry). CCC has said for years it was Ross but apparently not. (The original nine- new nine designed by Joel Goldstrand.)

Tom Vardon, Harry’s bro. He was the head pro at White Beat Yacht Club back then and designed a few (including Stillwater CC).

Also, it is listed in the Ross Wiki list but they tend to put up the question marks (WBYC was influenced by him but definitely Willie Watson did some/a lot of it.)

Unfortunately I have not, I only spent a summer working at Madden’s and most of my golf was played at the Classic, the other Pine Beach courses, Cragun’s and Giant’s Ridge

Yeah, there is really no architecturally redeeming reason to play there, its the very definition of a “tight…tight…piece of property.” Was just curious as I wasn’t sure if you’d grown up in the area or not, and had maybe played it. A buddy of mine used to work at Maddens in the golf operations during college but it probably was a little before your time in the early 2000’s.

That is 100% the case with Meadows, but there are courses I play well at that I hate as well. Are you a part of the “I Suck Here So The Course Sucks” contingent or is it @anon3021505?

The old nine is worth the trip. The new nine has improved but it is still super tight.
