You are Doug…sorry
That was my college nickname, so I would still probably respond to it. Lol
On Friday night, but not Saturday no offense to the doxxing system, but we live in the real world in The High Cotton Club… So, folks, please use your real name on the name tag unless you truly prefer to remain anonymous
Yo! Cap’n from the Supercell here. We’ve got some tee gifts left over from our major. Will be cutting these loose for $40. A last minute change of venue led to us having about 8 of these left over. DM if you’re interested and I’ll bring them with me next weekend.
Going to blow up the hotel’s food & bev tomorrow (sorry, TC) in an effort to get our last details finalized
Good news — hole by hole preview with the architect scheduled for Wednesday and will release next week!
Officially past the gender reveal party (it’s an LPGA star) and now full attention turns to Kentucky. Hype train is picking up speed
Alright folks! Time for another hole preview! For the 12th, I unfortunately don’t have any pictures, so gonna have to go full Mark Twain and try to paint you a picture with words! The 12th hole is personally a hole that fits my preferred draw (as a righty), but I have never played it well (that all changes next Saturday). Off the tee, your visual is a tree in the distance straight away and the green is tucked away behind a dog leg left. You’re left with a decision at this point……staring at the tree and native in the distance, you have three choices, take the hero line left of the tree, aim for the tree, or bail out right.
If you chose the first option and pull it off, you could have a short iron or wedge left. Option two leaves you a mid iron. Option 3 leaves you with a long iron or even hybrid left in. The execution of your tee shot definitely sets the tone for the remainder or the hole. The green is protected by a bunker on the right hand side and a hill on the left. On the green, you also get your first good look of the 15th and 16th holes in the distance. Try not to get to caught up in the 8’ deep bunker on 15 that you now know is coming.
As we continue to work behind the scenes ahead of everyone’s arrival, I’m more than happy to make an official announcement.
Courtesy of our higher-ups over at NLU, we have TWO invites to the NIT up for grabs. The winner of each flight will earn the spot…
FINALLY got an answer from the hotel on Friday night’s food, and although it wasn’t the answer we were hoping for, we’ll be prepared to send out full event info tomorrow or Saturday
In honor of @Privatecollection ’s long outstanding request from the NIT, I present the two Yeti tickets up for grabs in possibly the most IYKYK way of all time. Thanks for getting us ready to go @Privatecollection
ducks from impending beef jokes
What’s the action for the roost games next Friday? can confirm the Supercell looking for it multiple ways. DMs are open. We’ll be on site at Park Mammoth around 11:30ish, or earlier that day.
After talking with @leftysauce, sounds like one way or another everyone will be playing their own ball during the practice rounds which opens the floodgates for options.
Holla.
Played PM on Wednesday. All looks well for your upcoming event. Photo of 8th green: dont go long if you see this pin location.
As was stated in the preview of 8……don’t be short if the pins up top either. Watched somebody have a putt role back to their feet 3 times.
The Roosts that have enough competitors have two players at the end of the tee block who will be playing with two other players representing their Roost. Each player will be playing Tilt, and both players scores will count for the team total. We rank the teams based on team totals.
12:54 — OATW, with HCC markers
1:06 — Supercell & The Peachtree Collective
1:18 — Electric Phactory & High Cotton Club
Aside from the Roost games, an optional skins game will be available for $20 (payable to @highcottonclub via Venmo with the memo: E-Skins). This will feature a net and gross skins pool, but this must be paid before the Friday of the event. You can not enter the skins game day of
All this info and more will be coming in a series of emails from Unknown between the practice round event and actual extinction event
Now, as far as individual stuff goes… We have some challenges records to beat on Unknown once you see tee times come through in your email, get to challenging folks you know, folks you don’t, go crazy. No better way to meet someone than with a little low stakes but meaningful competition, and that’s what we’re here for!
@PurpATL how many Nassau’s did you have going at the Stank? Seeing you walk around with a crisp stack of 100 dollar bills was hilarious.
Let me know! We can do a 2 man best ball or a 10/10/10 Nassau?
Or… both?
