The Extinction at Park Mammoth Golf Club (6/3/23)

Considering the duck hook I hit Sunday missed it, I can confirm. It was just in the rough on 18 though. Anything other than right is fine.

I’ve missed it my fair share of times fersureee… it’s easy to try to get too aggressive and miss in the native grass on the right

I’ll have an update on the signups in the next few days as some spots fill up, but wanted to boost the updated information packet for those who may just be catching wind or may need an update. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Park Mammoth made #3 in Golf Digest’s Best New Public Courses… is that any good?

There is still room to sign up, so tag someone and #getinvolved :handshake: the best is yet to come!

Cannot wait for this one! Absolute golf playground! @HighRoughDrifter, this one isn’t to terribly far from Southern Illinois if you’re interested.

So many different ways to attack and approach this golf course. This will be our 3rd event out there and will have more for years to come!

I think there will be more incentives than just the golf for those participating :eyes: don’t miss out!

Speaking of different ways to attack the golf course… there will be a par 3 course laid out for folks who get knocked out of the derby early and want to keep swinging!

Big ballpark, infinite options, endless fun.

Stoked for this event. Played this place randomly back in the fall and thought it was very sick. Definitely gave me some “middle of nowhere/sick golf course” Sweetens vibes.

Thanks for putting all this together! The informational packet seems borderline professional

One day it’s going to work out that one of these events will take place when I am in Louisville visiting family or in this case, not in Pinehurst for the week.

You guys make me jealous every time I see the pictures in discord, looks like an amazing place and there will be plenty of awesome people there.

The second hole is 318 yards, and, like #1, is also one of the few holes that plays across the valley, with this and the 4th green only separated by a huge bunker. Longer hitters are tempted to take on the green, which is protected by a bunker short right, and the massive bunker directly protecting the left side of the green. While long hitters could be rewarded here, the gentle downward slope from the tee kicks lay up shots to the bottom of the hill and leaves golfers about 100 yards to the holes. Angles are huge on this hole… While there is plenty of room to miss, you must be sure to avoid the bunkers, or at least visual deception created by them, and leave yourself a decent chance to get it close.
The green itself is large, with a huge false front that will send your ball backwards in a hurry. The nuances of the green itself are extraordinary, which can be said for almost every green at PM. The second hole is a visual stunner, a mental hurdle, and a really good golf hole.

Nothing worse than getting down there and realizing you have a 48 instead of 56. :joy:

I say this a lot, but the coordinates are one of cooler things we’ve put on merch IMO :compass:
