Arrowhead Pointe is a sneaky good golf course. And I would say it’s the best the GA State parks have to offer. Here’s a description from the Top100 website:
“Arrowhead Pointe is an apt description for the plot of land where the title golf course sits. The course sits at the very tip of Richard B. Russell State Park, with a range of holes playing alongside, and even over the Savannah River, which widens at that point to form Richard B. Russell Lake. Despite the name, the park and course sit well into the interior of the state, hugging the Georgia-South Carolina state line, nearly 100 miles upriver from Augusta.
The course is a relatively new edition to the state’s golf collection (one of eight courses managed by Georgia state parks), having been constructed by Bob Clark during 2001.
Although the river will feature in the vicinity of 10 holes, Clark took his time on the routing, building suspense until the first water appearance on No. 6, where players will tee off over an inlet before the river comes back into play near the green. The back nine will head downward, making its way to the far tip of the property, where players will tackle Nos. 14 and 15 — a short par four and par three, respectively — which is about all anyone could hope to cram on such a strip.”
already heard from a number of guys who are bringing buddies from Charlotte or the north who are escaping the cold. what a perfect chance to bring together some those from outside the NLUniverse.
