Phone Call between GG and DJ

Dennis : Hey! We have this awesome idea of sending you guys on a golf trip to do an episode of Strapped!
Jen/Kiki/Haley: Sweet! Where is it?
Dennis : We’re thinking Nebraska!
Jen/Kiki/Haley: What?

If only you had known you were gonna blow the budget by 2x, coulda gotten a pair of those $300 supersonic brushes and expensed them both

There’s a strong debate going on next door:

I’d happily take a @ChickPhilA and @Sarah Strapped season

Following the Strapped celebration at Myrtle Beach I asked our resident Mystery Box broker, @TB3Golf , I if he had any Myrtle Beach gear to toss in a mystery box.

He was kind enough to check, but unfortunately they aren’t my size.

Someone go over and snatch these up. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

As a fellow Callaway Master Fitter you would think @Tron would help @Randy setup his driver COG correctly, that crooked grip drives me insane.

I’m just into episode one at old south and had to share this story from a trip few years ago.

#7 is this quirky short dogleg hole. We were playing a 2v2 scramble and somehow our opponents had to use their ball they flared off to the right, see the blue line in the picture below. The were deep in the shit and we had our ball on the green. They were taking forever to get a yardage and we told them to hurry it up. They end up hitting a shot and start celebrating like crazy and chirping back. We were in the fairway and didn’t see any ball on the green and were a little confused. We hit our ball hole high and we are all driving up to the green when they get out and start making fun of us for ā€˜being a mile away’. We were so confused but quickly figured out they had hit what they thought was a miracle recovery shot through a window in the trees ONTO THE TEE BOX OF THE NEXT HOLE. Pretty sure it’s the hardest I’ve ever laughed on a golf course. They still talk about it as the greatest shot ever hit.

Quality golf course architecture like that can play tricks with your mind, hard to blame them.

Folks –

Have been meaning to type something here for a while, but wanted to give a very, very, very big thank you to everyone for watching and sharing some overwhelmingly nice comments/stories/interpretations/etc. above. The last episode was far and away the most fun one to edit that we have ever put together. I’m glad it stuck with people!

A few things:

• We tried to spend SO much more money in Myrtle Beach. We woke up and had visions of go carts, airbrushed t-shirts, sno-cones, ferris wheels, etc. But in true Strapped fashion, we didn’t realize how quiet Myrtle Beach gets during the offseason and literally everything was closed. Would have been a heck of a montage.

• I obviously love a lot about this series, but my favorite part might be filming at places that NO ONE else does. I wish you could have seen the look on the face of the starter when I asked him if we ā€œcould play the Open Nine second so that we would have better light.ā€ He went straight up to another co-worker afterwards and was legit pointing and laughing at us from afar. It was sick.

• @Randy’s speech at the Waffle House almost made me tear up in real time.

• Even after we decided to ā€œblow it out,ā€ the hotel we stayed at in Myrtle Beach was like $55 and was way, way scarier than the Airbnb in Charleston.

• I agree with a lot of people here that the budget has become more of a hindrance than a helper in many spots the past few seasons. There are so many cool spots that go unexplored simply because we are worried about the budget from the time the first episode starts. Arbitrarily bumping up the budget seems tacky and doing away with the budget feels rudderless. It’s a weird spot.

• Old South sucked. Charleston Muni is provocative. The International World Tour Golf Linksā„¢ was a great spot to drink 700 beers.

• Would STRONGLY recommend the Miyabi hibachi place in Myrtle Beach. Was absolutely lit.

• Some easily-offended Refugees should NOT step into any of the Myrtle Beach t-shirt shops.

• Lots of contenders for best quote, but @MerchCzar thinking that English Turn was a) Not in New Orleans b) Not English, but c) was in Scotland, will be a highlight.

• Buy flowers, even when there’s no reason!

The split second image of him holding up that t shirt was one of my favorite moments of the entire series. Absolutely hilarious.

Point taken. Maybe then close this iteration of Strapped out on this note and use the opportunity to create some new content in its place. Maybe throw a couple of the new guys into something like Strapped. They may need to rework the mega bonus if @sundaybag is involved, though. I mean, unless the C Suite wants to go broke…

I would love to see @Cody involved in the Strapped enterprise.

It’s not arbitrary - it’s inflation.

It’s beyond your control. Totally agree that without the budget the show would lose a key component. A fair increase (somewhere between $750 -1,000 for the weekend) seems reasonable and and still would fit within the ethos of the show.
