The moment of @djpie 's complicity…
Underrated moment upon rewatch:
“They’re out of paper towels” after such a heartfelt moment will live with me for the rest of my life. You can just tell when someone needs a win and Randy was there for his friend. Great job Randy Neil and DJ.
Wow - it’s been a heck of a week around here, and I finally had a chance to sit down and watch this one tonight. Goddamn @djpie - you sir know how to make a film!!
I just sat here with the biggest smile on my face the entire time. Kudos to @randy for being a true friend and lifting up @MerchCzar when he clearly needed it. Just pure joy from there on out - and what a ride. Hearing the totals at the end just slayed me.
Also, this season may have been the funniest Randy has ever been. I always love the big guy and his subtle comments, but this season nearly everything he said had me just rolling.
Just amazing stuff gentlemen. Thank you for sharing!!
@MerchCzar’s t-shirt here is an absolute all-timer.
Incredible episode.
And to chime in on everyone saying the series could/should end with this episode, all I can say is I wholeheartedly, vehemently disagree.
I can’t believe what I’m reading. Ending Strapped now would be a complete Netflix move. (RIP Mindhunter, Friends From College, Glow)
Can confirm - sluggers is also legit. Might be a hot take, but I’ll go on a limb and say it; there are a lot of really good bars out there
I was just sitting here eating breakfast and started laughing out loud thinking of Neil: “The bathroom was out of paper towels.”
Excellent work! So much to unpack in this episode . I can’t help but think this is what we missed when the boys didn’t make it to the Bud Light Party Tent in Iowa.
Also, the inclusion of English Turn GC on this course hit me in the feels as well. I grew up playing golf like Strapped. I played many rounds with my Dad and Grandfather. But, English Turn was the last round I played with both of them before each subsequently later on passed away. I remember parts of that round like it was yesterday even though it was 25 years ago.
Bravo, gentlemen!
That line fit the mood of the first two episodes to an absolute T. Perfectly summed up the way things were going.
I mean…imagine how low you have to be for the lack of paper towels to actually leave a mark like that. Just sums it up perfectly and was so perfect knowing Randy’s last 2-3 minutes of analysis. All in one shot too!!
Track season is finished and my wife is prepping for a wedding that doesn’t start for another 7 hours. I took the time to get caught up and watch all 3 episodes Emanski-style and then read the entire thread.
Everything I was thinking and feeling has been said already, probably more intelligently than I would have.
But, I just wanted to say what a fucking joy that last episode was.
Everyone talking about being okay if it was the series finale needs to chill though. I can understand the thought behind the sentiment, but Strapped is a treasure. This series is, to me, the greatest video content that NLU produces. It’s imperfectly perfect. There are many more adventures for the Strapped boys and the narc! I want to see them hit all 50 states!
I love the relationship between Randy and Neil. They play off each other perfectly. And, as if there was any doubt prior to this season, Randy has once again proven himself to be a true mensch.
Bravo!
If the boys need a break, DJ should go do a Grueter Golf Strapped episode.
And if DJ needs a break, no excuses pieman. With great editing power comes great responsibility. - Spiderman
Thank you @djpie @Randy @MerchCzar that episode was everything
Last note, REALLY digging @MerchCzar ’s True Linkswear blue stomps. Those were sick. And I can’t find them anywhere…
Yo Neil! Those one-offs just for Icarito or what?!
I think they were actually the money maker from travis matthew aka cuater. I have the same pair and love them.
@jen4theweekendjenforever on a Strapped budget?
Sign me up.
Greuter X Strapped would be a great collab. Would watch
But @gruetergolf doesn’t keep score so much, right? So it would need a mix up in the format but I’m HERE FOR IT
