This chapter of the Book of Strapped matched the scenery. Bros and breathtaking views is just Camp Strapped, isolated and a bit desolate, and a bit understated and quiet.
It’s the chapter in the book where the boys look within, but way out there.
What’s sweet is the carpet from 1983 in Bruce (the land cruiser) is like 1/2 inch thick, so really it wasn’t too bad. Add a foam roller, morning yoga, and military grade edibles and we were cruuuising
Hey @randy@MerchCzar (& @djpie cos you filmed and edited it), I have been in hard lockdown again since June 26 and unable to play golf seeing as my club is outside my local government area. So I have not touched a club in three months, living in a place where golf is a comfy option all year around.
Strapped New Mexico made me want to play golf with my mates more than The Open, FedEx Cup Playoffs and Ryder Cup have in the last three months. So thank you. Thank you very much.
Golf is back on here from 11 Oct and I can’t fucking wait!!
The best part about that screenshot at the hot springs is that you don’t quite know whether @MerchCzar went completely naked or not. Nice framing there DJ.
I feel like if the boys were posted up in one general area the camping would have been more enjoyable. That many hours in a rig combined with the sun and heat when out of it can be rough.
I think it’s a great strategy to keep costs down, we camp on golf trips pretty often. Sleeping pads etc have gotten so good that it’s almost a safer bet than a cheap hotel bed. Naps with a view of the Bandon coast in between rounds are the best thing ever.
Ran into another rando during a golf round today who unprompted talked about how he consumed some NLU video content - was particularly into the Ireland season of TS.
Said he really “likes the tall lanky guy” and the “fellow that was dancing in the pub”. I said if he likes @Randy and @MerchCzar he’ll love Strapped, which he hadn’t seen. Evangelized the Strapped ethos, which he was into (we were playing a local muni at the time…)
I always enjoy these interactions with people out in the wild - have had a few randomly. Truly brought to you by The Nest
Your club seems cooler than mine. If I asked 75 people at mine if they’ve heard of NLU all 75 of them would look at me funny. Not that you have to know about or like NLU to be cool, but it always amazes me when people will be obsessed with golf but never really dig deeper than “I like to play a lot of golf”. I tend to nerd out on my hobbies I suppose
