Just confirmed today that I will be in Kissimmee for the week starting the day after Memorial Day. I’ll be staying at the Gaylord Palms since that’s where the conference is being held. Think I’m gonna bring my clubs to try to squeeze in at least 9 a couple days. The hotel has some kind of deal with Celebration Golf Club for securing tee times and transportation to the course, which sounds convenient because I likely won’t have a car. Anyone have any thoughts on the course? Are there better options in the area that are worth looking into? Appreciate any insight into golf or food in the area. Seems like a ton of options for both, so insider info would be helpful to try to narrow things down.

When it’s in good condition Celebration is a fine course. I haven’t played it in several years so can’t speak to conditions, so double check online reviews before booking.

Other courses within a reasonable rideshare proximity include Waldorf Astoria, Hawk’s Landing, Grand Cypress Links Course, and even the Disney courses. These are all as “FL resort” golf as you can get, with Grand Cypress probably at the top of the list. If budget is a concern Falcon’s Fire is also close, but not strongly recommended.

Recommend perusing our Roll Call: Orlando thread for more info

May sound touristy, but there are some great options at Disney Springs:
Morimoto Asia
Boathouse
Jaleo by Jose Andres
Polite Pig
Others im forgetting

I didn’t even know this existed. Anything by Jose Andres is worth at least one visit.

Greetings floridians, I’ll be in the Vero Beach area next weekend and am looking around on Sunday the 23rd. Any good recommendations around there or groups looking for an extra number? I’ve played Sandridge before but that’s about it for the area

It’s the primary public option in the area and the Dunes Course was in fairly good shape when I played it a few weeks ago. If you go down to Port St. Lucie you’d have PGA Club and Astor Creek as options. Honestly the best golf in the area is private if you’ve got a connection.

Will probably end up at Sandridge for 36 on Sunday, my only HiO is on the lakes course like 10 years ago so I’ll give it another go lol

New to the thread. Live in Winter Park, FL and was interested in joining the Splash of OJ Roost. Any info on what I need to do is appreciated.
Thanks!

Sent you a DM

Ate at the Rainforest Cafe on the same night this was posted. My 4-year-old and 6-year-old loved it and the service was great! But yeah, it was the Rainforest Cafe.

I’ll be in Naples in March, peak golf season and rates down there. Looking for recommendations hoping to play at two places.

Update on this: Doing double duty at Sandridge this sunday: 7:56 on the dunes and 1:30 on the lakes. Think both of those times weren’t full foursomes if anyone wants to join
