Just got back from an unbelievable trip with the Traveling Sunday bag through North Carolina and Virginia. Mega c-suite trip: Elk River (54 holes), The Olde Farm (72 holes), North Ridge, and Dormie Club. Our caddie at Dormie was a gem and was rocking the NLU towel. Lots of good conversations started from this bag and I was humbled to participate in this amazing story.
Cool to hear that the Traveling Sunday Bag made it out to The Olde Farm. I was out there a few weeks back. Place is uber C-Suite!
wow
Sick!
I’m just amazed it hasn’t fallen apart yet.
never expected to see back to back posts in the Traveling Sunday bag thread about playing TOF
One of these days the Traveling Sunday Bag and the Traveling Miura Blades have to meet.
After driving through a blizzard on Christmas Eve due to delayed standard shipping, I wish I would have paid way too much
I will have the bag at the YOTB Blade Meetup and I’m pretty sure the Traveling Blades are coming to the Meetup as well so we’ll make it happen.
I’m expecting something spiritual when the blades enter the bag.
Hell Yeah.
I’m looking forward to that meet-up.
We definitely need to get Randy Jackson to sign the bag…
Pretty damn flattering that Keiser Properties has made a traveling flag bag with accompanying journal.
Anyone know who has the bag? Hoping to get it for the 100 holes in a couple of weeks, but not the worst if I can’t
DM incoming
Im headed to Nashville over Thanksgiving. Love to take the bag for a round or two
@JDGAFFLIN are your october dates still set? Doing TFE event at Prairie Dunes the 2-4 and was going to try to take the bag if open. If you are going to take it no worries. Ill just take my shitty stand bag.
I was just going to take it on the 3rd to American Dunes, but honestly, the bag would be better served by hitting The Fried Egg event. Take it my man. I’ll jump on down the road.
Been a while since we had some bag pics in here:
I had the bag for a couple of weeks and took it to four different courses in Montana (first time for the bag in MT).
First up was Judith Shadows in Lewistown which is where I grew up playing. Beautiful day of golf - even if the course was suffering from some conditioning issues - particularly on the greens which felt like they were running a 6 or 7.
The following weekend I took the bag on an overnight, 3 course tour in SW Montana. All 3 courses were new to me so a nice little trip.
First was Madison Meadows in Ennis. Beautiful little 9 hole course about 45 minutes from Yellowstone Park. Last few holes wind through the foothills - hole 7 being my favorite. Will 100% be back down there in the future.
Next I drove a little over an hour over to Beaverhead Golf Course in Dillon. I had never been to Dillon so everything was new that day. The course itself was nothing special, just a flat, small town, parkland 9 holer. I did get paired up with another first timer to the course named Dave and had a great time telling him all about NLU, the Sunday Bag, and Year of the Blade. Not sure he’ll the newest recruit but he was super interested in the while shebang. Best part of the course was the Beaverhead tee markers.
Finally, I drove over to our fair capital city, Helena and spent the night. The next day I played the city muni Bill Roberts GC. Probably one of the best true city munis I’ve played in MT. Front 9 is good - some fun greens. Holes all laid out in close proximity to each other. Back 9 is the best 9 though. It was added later on and the first few holes do wind through a bit of a housing development but the houses don’t really come into play and the holes are well done. The last few holes exit the houses and have some gems including the par 4 14th which was my fave. Will definitely play again on future trips to Helena.
Finally I took the bag to the blade meetup but unfortunately did not get it out for any of the rounds. Shipped it off today to @DetroitGolfer19 for his charity day this weekend!
Thanks, a true perfect gentleman.
No worries. I believe @DetroitGolfer19 will have the bag, so you can work out the details with him.
Enjoy!
