Great write up! Good to see it hasn’t fallen apart yet :joy:

Ah damn, just saw this and I have the pleasure of playing Fishers Island October 4th. For some reason, if this falls through let me know and I would love to bring @alexshreff’s Fun Bags to Fishers

Was that the bags first trip to Montana?

Guise, the bag is now in the Motor City. It’s resting in preparation for what could be its longest day ever – 100 nonstop holes at the beautiful City of Detroit course - Chandler Park.

It will see a normal round, an alternate-shot round, a round from the red tees, a round with only one club, and who else knows what.

Thanks to @lazyjk for sending it my way, and it’s going to beautiful Des Moines next for @Sweet_Cupn_Cake

It was a surprisingly warm and humid Monday on Detroit’s east side today when Mike Mulholland (who also does can create sick headcovers if you need one) and I embarked on what would end up being 103 holes today. We started around 7:30 a.m., and we finished just before 7 p.m.

When everyone was lining up and getting ready, they saw the two of us standing around with Sunday bags on, mine obviously being the Refugee Sunday Bag. After many compliments and a lot of, “are you guys really walking?” we took off for hole 8. We ended up walking around 23 holes before it was time to change shoes and socks, and, sadly, get in a cart.

@alexshreff, thank you so much for making an awesome bag. I’ll be adding to the journal and signing the flag, along with adding a blank 100-hole scorecard, and sending it off to @Sweet_Cupn_Cake tomorrow!

Addition: There is still space in the journal, but I wanted to throw in a small journal from Shinola, a Detroit-based company that makes watches and leather goods. When it’s empty, feel free to use this one, or if someone wants to take it as a gift, that’s also an option, it’s nothing too special.

They are well worth it. Definitely book some time to go through the entire bag.

Back 9 does some great work. I have a driver and wood cover from Mike.

Great job on the 100 hole challenge, Max!!

Bag received. Handed off to @ZachR over the weekend since I had to work. He took it to Woodland Hills executive course with my brother in Des Moines.

Yesterday he took it to Honey Creek in Boone, IA. Its a fun cheap quirky course that plays through a deep valley including a 200 yard par 3 that plays down at least 25-30 yards.

Might try to get another 9 or 2 in this week before heading to TFE event at Prairie Dunes on Sunday.

I love the ad-hoc “stand”

Played with the “part-owner” of the course. He came up with the idea for the stand. Beautiful piece of property built by Brad Benz who grew up in my hometown of Dubuque, IA and built over 140 golf courses before he past.

Had an incredible day at TFE Prairie Dunes event with @ZachR . Took the bag for the alt shot round and should have taken it for the morning 18 too rather than a push cart. Its so light and easy to use. We somehow managed to not lose a ball in alt shot but had an avalanche of 3 putts. Also had a bunch of greens visited with approach shots before being rejected by slopes. Might be the most difficult greens I have ever seen but was a really fun challenge.

Enjoyed spreading the word of the bag to those who have not heard of it.

Since apparently nobody travels for golf in Oct or Nov I am still in possession of the bag I took it out to my home course Echo Valley CC around Des Moines, IA. Trees were popping and was a perfect quarterzip day.

Schedule looks clear at this point. Great time to get your name down for the next couple of months and into 2022

Schedule looks open! I’ll apply. I have a round coming up mid Jan to early feb, TBD exact date and location. Will be playing with my Twin brother who is in the service and just got word he is being stationed back home near me. I grew up playing golf with him probably three times a week in high school and we have probably played 3 rounds of golf together in the last 6 years. We are still figuring out which course we will be playing. Is it ok to leave my spot taken on the sheet and update with details later?

What kind of heads up do we need to give to reserve the bag? Looking like I may be making it to my first refuge meet up next weekend and was gonna see if that is to tight of turn around.

I honestly don’t even know who has it right now. If there’s nothing on the schedule for that weekend, and the current owner is able to get it shipped out Monday, likely not an issue.

Anyone know where it is currently?

It looks like @Shankapotomous was the last person to confirm it in the sheet. If this week doesn’t workout, I’m gonna probably sign up for my an event in April I’m going to.
