Roll Call: Washington DC/DMV Area

No offense, but an annual buddies trip to play golf in DC? In July? Lordy.

No offense taken. Most of us live in the southeast. One guy lives in DC. He’s always traveled to us to make it easier on the group. He wanted to host so we moved it more north for a year. With some schedule limitations, we just said fuck it and deal with the heat to guarantee the core of the group could all attend.

Weather was a true wake up call for everyone, so it’ll be a major player going forward now that we finally heard complaints as we’ve gotten a bit older (30s instead of 20s haha)

Your group was dialed in! Matching team outfits and the three round competition set up was pretty cool. They have an IG account @poolboyopen.

Glad to hear you liked the courses in the DC area. We have lots of Refugees and Nesticles that play there regularly. It was hot on Friday with little to no breeze. Comeback in the Fall next time and get your DC guy #involved in Refuge if he wants some local sicko’s to launch em with!

Anyone have a recommendation on club fitter in the area? Buddy broke his driver on a trip this weekend and was already thinking about doing it. He’s based in Delray so Nova or Bethesda Rockville area can also work

Golf Doctor in DC is pretty solid. I know they do a lot of fittings at Golfdom but I can’t speak to the quality.

Took my dad to get a new driver and got the tour van fitting experience. Was awesome.

Ended up with new ping 425.

I’ll be going there when I feel the need for something new.

I wouldn’t recommend Golfdom right now. They seem to be out of stock of a lot of shaft options and my fitting experience was less than stellar. I wanted to get fit and purchase a new driver and 3 wood last weekend when they were doing their VIG promotion, and the fitter wasn’t able to find any options that beat my current set up (917D and 915Fd, so not exactly brand new clubs).

I’ve heard amazing things about Wade, believe he was ranked as one of the top fitters in the country. I’ve done golf don but it’s hit or miss on who is fitting you, some of those guys suck.

I’m late, but Golf Doctor does a great fitting, though he has so many options it’s impossible to feel like you have tried everything. That can be good and bad I guess. I’ve been less than thrilled with the process of actually ordering from him though, so if you have elsewhere you can order it, don’t be afraid.

Side note, does anyone know when PGA Tour Superstore opens in fairfax?

I heard it is supposed to open within the next two months.

I had no idea we were getting a PGA Tour Superstore here, that’s solid. It was my store of choice when I lived in Atlanta. I just checked their website, it says August 14th.

Grand opening was this weekend.

I just realized I totally forgot to tell this thread I’m here now! Been in Alexandria the past 2 months. Shoutout to all those on WhatsApp who have met up for rounds in the area in my first few weeks here. @coozapalooza & @RobertHunter we are overdue, need to plan something once I get back from a wedding next week.

Yo, any tips/advice on parking for a nats game. Coming in from outa town for the game Monday at 1:05

There are more experienced people in here who probably have super secret tips and tricks, but when not using the metro I’ve just prepaid for parking in Lot W. It’s $20, easy in and out.
