Roll Call: Virginia

Haven’t played the old course but cascades was fun and pretty challenging.

Lower cascades 100000%

The old course is is in good shape, short and kinda tight. Not a real modern layout.

Nice dinner I’d definitely recommend Oakhart Social (Main St near the Mall) or Mas.

I’d be in. Sounds like a good idea!

@Sixcat

Really enjoyed our outing at Gordon trent. Fun little track, that play all day for $35 thing would a fun day for sure. We ended up winning $300 cash, and had one of the course dogs ride with us most of the day too around the course.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I was thinking about you, I was 3 miles up the road working on my mom’s yard Saturday. Great weather. Glad you had a good round.

Mas!

I got to talk to the “pro” down there and while its a much different atmosphere then I am used to, I really like the more laid back fun rounds. Its a reminder golf doesn’t have to be uppity to be fun.

Thanks. Looks like Mas is only doing takeout right now which probably isn’t ideal for tapas – anybody know if they’re doing any dine in? The Local, Maya and Brasserie Saison (owned by Champion brewing folks?) are 3 we’re looking at… those good options? Seems like lots of places closed Monday/Tuesday and we’ll be in town Sunday-Wednesday lunch so that removes some choices.

Ah bummer about Mas! I don’t have any experience with the others you named. Live in Richmond but have had some great meals in Charlottesville at those places I suggested.

Hope im not too late on this

Breakfast: Bodos, Mooses by the creek (hidden gem, dont let the looks of the place deter you, biscuits and gravy are A+++), tip top, fitzroy brunch buffet on weekends

Lunch: Riverside, Fabios, Jack Browns, fry spring, virginian, Beer run

Dinner:
Upscale: Duners, Ivy Inn, Local
Mid range with good Happy Hours: Public fish and oyster, vivace, Sedona, Local is also great
Brewries: (most good ones are outside cville on 151 trail) Blue Mountain is the best…25 minutes from cville, Woodridge farm brewery (25 minutes) Three notchd (in town, near downtown), South Street (downtown), Random Row (near downtown)
Wineries: Veritas, Pippen Hill, King family
Distilleries: Ragged Branch (best setting in the area)

Mas is doing outdoor dining and taking reservations. Can’t remember what days/nights they are closed though. I have a dinner reservation there this Fri night so hoping the weather is good

Cool, good to know – will give them a call and ask.

@Fore20 planning on hitting Pippin Hill for sure, she’s seen too many people on Instagram go there to not hit it up!

@JohnP appreciate it, looks like Local might be a winner.

nice man…my girl and i stopped randomly one day heading from VA back to NC as its literally right off 29 south and now we stop basically every time i go home to visit family…its a pretty sweet place man

the wineries around charlottesville are much better than the breweries IMO

This is a fact. That being said, anyone into good brews should check out Blue Ridge Bottle Shop in Crozet because they source from all over and usually have some very tasty stuff on their shelves

Love it, yall will have a great time…cant believe I didnt mention this as I live a mile from Pippen, but Dr Hos pizza is a must stop before/after Pippen. They have a homemade ranch that is perfect…pizza and the homemade fries with a side of ranch will top the day off perfectly. Its right across the street from Pippen
