I’m in Williamsburg and would be happy to get out soon! Have you played at all yet?

Played there about a month ago and it was in great shape.

I played there yesterday and it was in great shape. Greens were quick. Course was green. First time I had played it. Lots of blind shots. Only lost one ball on the 3rd hole par 3. Completely blind shot to the green missed it left and long I believe and never found it. Fee for a 9am tee time was $75. Carts came with a cooler of ice and two water bottles.

Looks more walkable than I expected?

Also, the member tees are 2000 (? can’t see it that well) shorter than the dippy’s??

Calling them “member” tees gets the older guys to move up. Less stigma than the “senior” tees.

(said with full recognition that I am well on my way to those tees)

And allows me to excuse myself right up to them as well…

I like what Pine Needles calls them; it’s Medal, Ross, Regular, Forward.

I’ve played there once. When asked if it was walkable, the pro shop attendant laughed and handed us a key to a cart. It would be a tough walk, but you could do it.

If it was when Chip Sullivan was the pro there, he did the same thing to me at my club when he was the pro here. Discourage walkers = more margin. #PCM4life

Good old Chip is always willing to line the company wallet!

RNK, the holes themselves are walkable, you just need a shuttle in between most of them.

Walked it earlier this year. I walk a lot, so take this for what it’s worth.

I thought it was harder than most. Doable, but when I walked off, I definitely was not thinking I could turn around and tee off again like normal.

Elevation changes are there but manageable - it’s the distance between tees that is the killer. Lot of yardage between previous greens and next tee.

Also, it was pretty nice out when I did this. If it was a scorcher, that would be challenging. We were the only group to walk on a busy day. Course bought us beers for freeing up carts when they were needed with COVID challenges.

lol I get dirty looks for cutting into that margin

what I have found that at places like RNK, typically they are slower rounds anyway and while its harder on the legs, its also not a blistering pace either.

I played it for the first time this year. If you have a pushcart and can sherpa enough waters it could be walkable. My only concern is that after walking it you are a long way from home, so that would be a long drive back.

Hey gang, recommendations for someplace within say 45 min of Fredericksburg? I’ve got several hours to kill while my wife gets ready for a wedding and I don’t need to show up until 4.

Never played any of them but Mattaponi Springs, Pendleton, Augustine, Gauntlet are what come to mind on the better courses in the area?? Rapidan and Meadow Farms are lower end on price I think… Meadow Farms has a Par 6 and a baseball field hole so…

Mattaponi springs is pretty fun. not a particularly walkable course but if you’re close it’s worth trying for sure
