just out of curiosity, wouldnt the same kids who lived off campus and stayed in the summer, but the same kids who lived off campus and were still in town right now with no school in session?
in theory, the population right now should mirror the population in the summer for the most part…at least pretty close
I think most stuff is really shut down. Add in all the parents who made their kids come home, and I would suspect it is emptier than summer down there right now. My neighbors college age kids are all at home right now. I hardly see them during the summer (although that is probably because of internships).
true story…with the bars and restaurants either shut down or getting ready to shut down, theres nothing for the avg student to do right now
it would be awesome to ride it out in an off campus apartment and literally smoke weed and play video games all day long, but im sure most folks got the you need to come home speech
I was in the same boat with you, getting one last range trip to Burke Lake before everything closed down. Any other courses/ranges in the area still open?
Stonewall and raspberry are still open might play one of those next weekend. Played Langston in the city today, only weird bit was everyone taking carts. If there was ever a time to go walkers only now be it
I say no. He said all non-essential brick and mortar businesses can stay open as long as less than 10 people are inside. I see no reason why a golf course/club couldn’t abide by those limitations. Also, he mentioned that people are encouraged to get outside and walk around. Again, a golf course would provide that opportunity.
like it would be one thing if only the real die hards kept going, the 3-4x a week guys. But the casual golfer is going to ruin this spot here soon. People are NOT doing enough to keep this at bay, and more restrictions are coming.
I agree, but I think it’s the 3-4x a week guys who are going to ruin it. Everyone needs to make sacrifices and it’s frustrating to me to look at my club’s tee sheet and see the same 3 or 4 groups every day in the middle of the afternoon. I’m trying to do my part and stay away from people (my mother who lives around the corner from me is in the at risk group). Is it too much to ask to have guys play one day on the weekend so the course isn’t packed both days? I want to play golf, but I also don’t want to show up to a course that is completely full.
My club is staying open with the same restrictions that were in place re: social distancing. Walking is preferred. Everyone will have their own cart, unless the two riders are family members. Cups are upside down and no more than 4 members are allowed in the pro shop at any one time.
