Roll Call: Virginia

Very, very fair clarification, but yes! Holston Hills in Marion.

I’ll be travelling to Richmond for work on Thursday, June 6th, and I’m planning to get a round in the afternoon. I’m planning to play Royal New Kent around 3-3:30 if anyone would be able to join me.

Does anyone have any intel on course condition, or any general helpful info?

Not so much strategy, but a hole-by-hole gallery from a myriad of angles & panoramic views of RNK is at your disposal on our website (could post link here but here’s one image to get you started).
Good Luck!

Late to find most threads here, but 10 year VT grad living in NoVa (Alexandria). Golf sicko and member at Springfield G&CC which is a great local track, NoVa / local DC area I think is notoriously light on good public golf, but have always enjoyed Westfields and recently played Laurel Hill for the first time. What a track. Good Lord if they could condition it that is such a championship facility, and makes sense why the Pub Links (RIP) was there 10 years ago.

Welcome! Fellow Alexandrian here. Jump in the DC roll call thread an introduce yourself to the locals if you haven’t already. And be sure to have some hot takes ready for the WhatsApp group.

Awesome! Thanks!

Just a reminder if anyone wants to join me Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at RNK

I might get wild and decide to leave early and try to play the original 12 at Belmont around noon. Would I need to book that in advance or will I be able to just get out whenever I get there?

Welcome! I’m a Hokie grad as well and in the Richmond area now but grew up playing Springfield and my parents are still members there.

Westy and Laurel Hill are great starts for you, if you jump in the the DC roll call you probably only get rants about EPGL and UMD, while they are price beneficial, they lack the quality golf one would expect from a metropolitan area. Next plan of action for you is to migrate up 270 and hit Worthington Manor, PB Dye, Musket Ridge, and Maryland National. You can skip Whiskey Creek and Blue Mash as what the charge for is beaten by the other courses for mentioned. Want to stay in Virginia… drive farther south down 95 to courses like Pendleton, Mattaponi Springs and a little farther down onto I-64 Royal New Kent and Viniterra.

Tom, I miss you. See you in July?

Anyone in the Lynchburg area? I’ve got a wedding on 6/15. Probably have a window on 6/14 or 6/15. Or anyone with recommendations for a course to play? Thanks!

My office is about 25 mins away, depending on time I could swing something, I am a member at Ivy hill out that way.

I’d be safe and book a time. Playgolfrva.com

Hop into the Richmond thread Richmond, Virginia (RVA) - #218 by foggy and you’re likely to get a game. I’ll be at the beach.

Yeah I am hoping to get down there again for the 3BR. Can’t say anyone else from DC will be down there.

Its the best $75 for golf they’d spend all year. Place was looking PRIME the other day.

You see Jeff won the landman event?

He’s been to all 3 thus far, if he doesn’t he cut out the will

I sent him the signup sheet since I didn’t see his name on it yet.
