First post here. Grew up in Fauquier, now living in the Woodbridge area. Favorite course that I’ve played in the state so far is Caverns Country Club in Luray. I play Montclair a lot now that it’s public and it’s walking distance from my house. Not here for the high rates there though. Looking to get out to Schoolhouse Nine soon if anyone is interested in some fun and some beers?
I’ve always seen it pop up when looking for tee times, but I thought it was just some crappy nine holer that I didn’t want to mess with. I just learned the story behind it a few weeks ago, and since I started hardcore watching the Strapped videos, I’m definitely way interested in getting out there.
Hi I’m moving up to the Richmond area from Raleigh in February, looking to get involved there. Does anyone recommend any clubs and/or public courses in the area?
Hit me up here or there for deets on RVA golf. I’m a member at the Federal Club, and in our WhatsApp/Refuge group we have members at CCV, Hermitage, Lakeside Park, Foundry and likely every club in the area that you might consider.
Hey gang! Can y’all give some recs for Danville area courses (public or semi-private) worth playing? I live in Crozet and a friend in Pinehurst wants to meet in the middle and it looks like Danville is our best bet.
Starting to materialize a trip to Roanoke to play Ballyhack in the spring. We have a couple connections we can leverage—we’re all members at a private club in Atlanta and one of the guys in our group played golf at Virginia and has some pro connections.
So, is it worth the flight and all the work and cost? I think we’d try to have 2 days of play and get 36 in one day.
I believe the unaccompanied fee is $250-$300 although this VA connection MAY be able to help that.
Anyone have updates on that? Replay fee? Other tips or tricks?
HIGHLY recommend. I played over two days in a corporate outing so no tips about getting on or the relative value per se, but the course is super fun, views are amazing, and the staff is phenomenal.
