Has anyone been out to Shenandoah Valley GC recently? Will be playing out there on Friday morning.

If it’s the course I’m thinking of, then $22/person is a fair price. I’ll need to confirm when I can get to a computer. Are you heading east for other reasons?

I come to norfolk every year for a thursday-sunday golf/challenger league event at azalea little league. Usually get 3 rounds in while we are there and saw this, never played there before.

Is Kinderton in Clarksville too far east? My daughter played it in high school tournaments and said it’s cool. Ross did the front nine.

The guide / speaker in the magazine is one of the most interesting stops in CW.

I’d need some help from someone local in the area…but could pull it off. Hands on the ground is a necc evil for an event tho.

I think this is the course I’m thinking of. $22 is a fair price, but not a deal by any stretch. It’s a forgettable course in a housing development. Pretty short; pretty narrow. It’s probably been 20 years since I played it, but I caddied for my daughter in a VSGA tournament there a few years ago.

Better or worse in your opinion than the public courses like ocean view around that area? I don’t mind a shitty muni or public track

Went out and played Hobbs Hole in Tappahannock with my brother and old man. On the recent Cleeve Hill pod Neil was talking about courses that fill up the tank. A completely dormant Hobbs Hole in ~45 degree weather completely filled up my tank. I loved every second of it.

Can’t recommend it enough if y’all haven’t made the trek out there.

I took a single, terrible photo but at least it illustrates how dormant it was.

Absolutely love that course. Cannot wait to play it again.

man that shit looks so flat

This is easily the flattest hole on the course lol.

Pretty decent undulation and a few weird shelves that your ball can get up on on a few fairways.

everything looks flat compared to here too

I played Eagle Haven today - which is probably the “hilliest” course in Virginia Beach. Not like these pictures are much help, but this is the uphill par 5.

I only get to play out of the area a few times a year, but it’s nice to get some elevation change every once in a while.

One of many places we’d wind up after one too many beers as an undergrad at The College.

Not sure if Clarksville is a hotbed for NLU fandom, but who can say?

God, I haven’t played OV since 1995. The sunday that JD won the Open Championship. I’d say OV is funkier and less soul-crushing. If you haven’t played Sewell’s Point on the base, I’d give that a shot. I used to drive by it to and from work every day, but it was military only back then.

Good Morning Virginia,
I just moved up to the Hampton Roads area from Tampa this past October. So far I’ve played the Langley course a half dozen times and really enjoy the layout but am looking to get out and play more once spring rolls around. Always open to a road trip to check our new courses/meet ups.
