No, but the first few posts here will probably help.

…but Ontario.
Hey man, center of Canada The World The Universe
My proposed name for the course is already taken. And by a business in the same neighbourhood, no less.

Good news, I sold that shirt and cleared $7 after shipping so I’m getting in on the ground floor.
Not bad.
Also this opportunity:
Who’s our architect to re-build this sucker?
I’ll vote for Alberta’s own Rod Whitman (Cabot Links, both Wolf Creek courses, redesign at the Algonquin).
finally. At least some ponds.
Jeeze, it’s TDC. Needs some water.
Beautiful. Only two hours from Castlegar or Cranbrook! We will definitely have the place to ourselves.
The Duck Club East and The Duck Club West could create some epic Ryder Cup style matches.
Castlegar and Cranbrook have some great courses in the area as well. Castlegar golf club is one of my favourites in the province. This location would be ideal.
Les Furber might be a solid option. I am by no means an architect expert, but I always enjoy his courses. Here are a few of the courses he has done in BC Salmon Arm, St. Eugene, Springs at Radium, Storey Creek and,Trickle Creek.
I was thinking more Doak.
I guess if we are dreaming we may as well shoot for the stars!
If it walks like a Doak…
I was thinking about a business model of a network of public courses in and around all our major markets in Canada. People always gravitate to quality. People are willing to travel thousands of KM to play the likes of Cabot or Bandon or Sand Valley. What if you had a top quality layouts - just pure golf that’s publicly accessible nearer your own city? Sure you’re not necessarily going to get the kind of site Cabot has, but you can get 80% of the way there probably with a good site and exceptional architecture. Have main 18 (with 6,9,12 hole loop potential), practice areas, short course and basic “club house” for a good hang. Keep it around $100/round and people will flock. Anything within an hour of town and people will make the effort to go if it is great.
Maybe this is the Duck Club model - Duck Club - Victoria, Duck Club - Vancouver, Duck Club - Kelowna…Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Halifax, St. John’s etc.
Create some efficiency in their overall development and management by having this national network. By going outside of town, find relatively cheap land and/or repurpose defunct courses that have infrastructure and zoning entitlements in place. Make it affordable and make it a volume profit model by virtue of proximity to major golf markets. Make it attractive to as wide a golf demographic as possible.
I love the concept. Perhaps the short course would work for this, but definitely something that’s family/beginner friendly.
Yeah. Main course - good tee selection, few forced carries, wide enough fairways and I think that is playable for everyone. Broad appeal is key. That said, even beginners and players of various ability want challenge.
