Roll Call: The Duck Club | Canadians, Beer and Cow Pastures

Thank you sir! I’ll await for the captain’s official word but already feeling like this was a great choice!

So should we be doing some WNY recruiting and trying to get some more talent in through the transfer portal? I don’t think NLU has set any limits on this so it could be a frenzy.

@BigtimePolecat what’s our NIL budget situation looking like?

Please respect the new NAFTA, USMCA  A lot of work was done by a lot of people to change the name…

Does he have to change his nickname to CUSMA when he crosses the border? :smirk:

@jsauce sorry about the delay but I’ve finally made it official. I’ve added you to the Duck Club part of the board so you can see everything there.

Since we are still pretty spread out across Ontario, we run most of our competition through remote quota rounds on Golf Genius. All/Most of the details are in this post

You can also register for Golf Genius here

If you have a GHIN through USGA, you may have to connect with @tniloc to get your handicap on there properly

Let me know if you have any other questions

Good evening everyone! The FcF is going to hold an event in Toledo OH on February 18th. The Fropen 2023. We will be playing no matter the weather or conditions at lovely Ottawa Park golf course. Short, quirky, awesome, old, needs a reno. It’s free, there will be warm beverages. There’s a chance it’ll be -7 degrees and there’s a chance for it to be 50 degrees. It should be a great time!

We would love to see some ducks!

Cheers
Jono

I was in Scotland this past summer and I would suggest Dunbar > Kilspindie by a lot. Kilspindie so fun but Dunbar is a level up.

Also, I was there for 2 weeks and the amount of driving definitely got to me. I would suggest doing 4 days in East Lothian, 4 days in Fife (although if you have a driver getting up to Dornoch/Brora might be easier)

Really love the use of Ottawa to attract the Canadians… 4 hour drive here… Could make game time decision if weather is predicted to be warm. Would love to connect in proper golf season for a Duck Club x FCF mixed event this summer

Agreed. I know a few of the crew had a blast at roseland. We need to do a “home and home” at rackham

Try your best to make it! We will be playing no matter the conditties

May I suggest a Roseland and Rackham home and home, with a team mixer at the casino?

You absolutely can, and that would be top of the list. NIT spot to the most money won at the casino haha

Just following up on the Scotland trip with the thread. Looking at the sheet and from some conversations in our Duck Club chat it doesn’t seem like there is a ton of interest in setting something up with a tour operator/booking things on our own. If people feel otherwise some feedback would be appreciated. I have not received any DMs.

No worries if not. My wife has shown interest in going on a Scotland trip with me that includes golf. So I can always sort something out on my own for 2024.

@eatonsb @theclv24 @JDGAFFLIN & myself loved Roseland and have been vouching for this combo ever since. Not sure how many are near Windsor, but it would be a fun duo if anyone wanted to make the trip.

We are really bad at organizing ourselves, it seems. Not sure how frequently folks check the is space. In any event, I am still interested for sure if we can get it together.

I am still interested as well. At least to be part of a discussion about it. The price you listed was higher than I anticipated, but I have never really taken a trip like this, so maybe I didn’t have realistic expectations.

We can certainly still set something up. I got some additional info from one of the guys in the Duck Club who did a trip to Scotland in 2021 and with his group they did Fife and East Lothian for about $6000. This included 8 rounds of golf, flights and hotels. Transportation, food, other items not included. So we can certainly do it a bit cheaper if we want to do the work ourselves.

Let me know when you guys want to talk
