Calling all Manitobans… I’ll be through Winnipeg once (or possibly twice) through August / early September. Deciding whether or not to bring my clubs when I come… likely won’t bring them to play solo, but if anyone is keen for a game I would happily make it work!

Dates still tbd, but if you’re keen to connect let me know and we’ll get to planning. Thanks!

Manitoba is like Finland. I don’t think it actually exists.

Sheeeeesh! That’s quite the stretch, pal. Not jealous - not jealous at all.

I’ll see what I can find for extra-curriculars. Flying in to Edinburgh? Flying to Ireland or driving / ferry?

Thanks Dunc. Yeah. Tough life for me now.

Flying into Edinburgh (shipping the sticks) and Connoisseur Golf is transferring us to St. Andrews.

Then flying to Belfast on the following Monday and driving ourselves around North/West Ireland.

On a separate note, I was hoping the Duck Club could suggest some names for our Cabot rental property. The place will launch for next season.

Some suggestions so far:

  • Screaming Eagle Inn.
  • Cabot Clubhouse (probably get sued for that one)
  • Albatross Alley

If I choose your name suggestion, we’ll host you and a friend for a couple of nights free.

Cheers

Thanks for these suggestions everyone!

It might end up being a consolidation of some of them.

My wife read through the suggestions last night and put together:

Breton Links Retreat

We’re going to make a decision later in September. Looks like I might just have to host the entire Duck Club for a launch event.

Tussle at the coast?

Hi!

Long time NLU fan but newer to the Refuge (and still figuring it out). Based out of Windsor but get up to the London and KW areas to play quite a bit and always on the look out for new tracks! Looking forward to getting a little more involved and hopefully attending some events in the future.

I know it’s mentioned a lot on this thread, but made the trip up to Tarandowah yesterday and it continues to impress. I play it every few months and love it more and more every time. Definitely nothing else like it locally!

Welcome. Plenty of KW folk in these parts. Some are saying it’s actually the centre of the Canadian golfing universe. Some are saying other things.

Actually I looked it up and several species of Duck are prominent in Cape Breton so that name isn’t a terrible idea. The only concern is the lack of golf context outside the Refuge
