No but I just heard of Kilter brewing there. Sounds good.

Especially not the pizza.

Hmmm, looks like they deliver too. This isn’t helping my (already shaky) resolve to drink less and home-workout more. But I do love me some beer…

The Winnipeg brewing scene is pretty dope, honestly. It’s a total bummer being here and not being able to do anything / everything being on lockdown. Brazen Hall taproom has legit the best pretzels I’ve eaten anywhere in the world, and killer burgers too. I’ve had great beer at One Great City too - another good hangout.

Best burger & beer in town … the Grove.

If you’re into that sort of thing.

Oh man, google has it closed right now… that’s too bad. It’s starred ready for next time though!

Unfortunate. I was unaware they were closed. Likely down until the province moves out of the red zone.

Lived in winnipeg from 99 to 2017. I actually dont know of anywhere good for specifically brisket.

I didnt know of other Winnipeggers on here, unless you are just visiting?

Yeah the beer scene has had some good growth recently but it should have existed years ago if we didnt have such a Puritan mindset back then. I was always jealous when I’d travel to other Canadian and and American cities and saw how much better it was.

It’s not really an “exotic” beer but to this day, St James Pale is my go-to locally whenever I go back to Winnipeg.(still sad I cant go back for Christmas …)

Just visiting - I have a job here in a couple weeks, so I’m currently isolating in advance of that…

I’m in Ontario now, but covered Winnipeg as part of my region when I lived I Calgary - I’ve spent a reasonable amount of time here over the years. I really quite enjoy the city - my last visit (this time last year for a wedding) I had a blast showing my wife around, and just being a tourist. The Mint was a killer tour, and well worth the time! A legit highlight as a visitor.

But yeah, since I’ve been coming here (2014ish onwards?) I’ve drunk really well. And ball games at the Goldeyes are dope!

If it’s done right, I like it a lot: modern stadium, good planning and development around it, etc. Lots of great (and not so great) examples around the US.

But, you know, we’ll see…

I’m excited to see it happen. The incredible part will be watching the Jays play ball in a construction site. The articles I’ve read don’t say anything about a temporary location. New location only if this falls through.

They did just put a bunch of money into Dunedin…

Temp location back at the Ex?
Or is that thing gone too?

The Dunedin Blue Jays presented by Toronto presented by Rogers!

The jerseys are gonna be sick

The skyline of Toronto is synonymous with Skydome, will be weird to see it become a cookie cutter stadium.

Legit asking…how are they allowed condos on government land?

SkyDome is awful inside and out. Toronto would be well served by following the model of other cities to build a smaller stadium with more atmosphere and more integrated into the fabric of the city.
