Roll Call: The Duck Club | Canadians, Beer and Cow Pastures

Adjacent anecdote: my cousin took at year off before university and was the one 19 year old in a dorm of 18 year olds. He used to have pallets delivered to his room and drank for free all year.

My dutch roots make me cringe at that, sounds expensive when its really just a 30 minute walk, round trip, for me

I honestly didn’t know you could get booze delivered - wouldn’t have occurred to me, given all the other arbitrary booze rules in ON.

Anyway. We’re hoofing it! Rest assured (I know you’re concerned) I’ll have options at every category ready for the AM, and (maybe) DJ’s coronation. And by coronation, I mean coronation chicken sandwich. To celebrate his victory. In the Masters.

Yeah, I’m married to a Dutch girl who can’t stand the thought of paying that, so I get it.

B&D delivery! Not sure if they will do quick turnaround deliveries right now, but they were absolutely my go to alcohol delivery service when I was younger and got accidental drunk during the day and needed more.

Man B&D really brings me back to high school days. A KW staple!

You’re a gent - I’ll bookmark this.

I ended up taking the air, getting some (mild, slightly stoned) exercise and now I’m home with a couple beers from Bellwood’s, some old-ish Tempranillo, and a flat of Guinness just to be safe. That walk was… tough with the flat. But necessary. Breakfast beers, right?

Gotta. Guinness would be good for that.

Your walk back was probably a lot uphill than downhill too. That’s unfortunate.

Jesus Christmas, man. Do you hate yourself?

The real kicker was watching the shiny new train go by when I was about 5 mins from getting home. I cross those goddamn tracks every time I leave the house and forgot it existed. That one’s on me…!

Never even thought of the walk back with a full load. You’re a hero

I hadn’t heard “B&D” since my WLU days (a LONG time ago).

We’ll see if he makes it through the last hour of bonus coverage!

Apropos of nothing, but Nick Taylor actually has a really nice move - I don’t know I’d have recognised his swing, but it’s lovely.

Good to see @soly doing the Sportsnet hit being the expert talking about the Masters to the Canadian crowd. Missed opportunity to not use a hockey analogy. “DJ has a breakaway with an empty net”. Etc, etc.

I do like that Graham Deleat has taken everything he knows about broadcasting from hockey interviews
