I hate that back 9. Very questionable layout.
I probably would if I played it more. I flew down from a place with 2 inches of ice on the ground, Iāll take anything I can get right now.
Closing the loop on this. I rescheduled my fitting at the fitterās request and ended up doing it two weekends ago. The facility and experience were incredible. The fitter, Dan, was a proās pro. Listening, observing, and really in tune with what the clubs were doing. Highly recommend. On top of that, heās an NLU fan and met Soly in Abu Dhabi and Germany when Dan was caddying for a college teammate. I felt like I was at a resort. True Spec is the real deal.
Do they do putter fittings? Didnāt see it listed on the website. Iām in dire need of a putter fitting and/or lesson. Apparently buying a new putter on a whim every year doesnāt helpā¦but it is fun.
I am visiting my parents/escaping the winter in Lakewood Ranch for the next month or so. Any recommendations for courses to play? I will be working while I am down here so most likely will only be able to play on the weekendsā¦hopefully I will be able to meet up with some local refugees.
@2ndGuyStripeShow and I played Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch a little while ago and it was a nice track. Would definitely check it out. Also the IMG Academy Course in Bradenton is sneaky good.
How long will you be in the area? Iām a few hours away but I would definitely like a second meeting with the IMG course. How bout it @Big_RanDeer ?
Iāll happily take another spin around The Korda Family compound.
My dad an I played River Club on Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised.Got an afternoon round for $44 a piece and it was WELL worth the value. The back-9 was really good.
I played the commander course at Lakewood National about a month ago and it was awesome. I would Highly recommend it.
Pretty sure thatās where this weekās KFT event is being held, so you may have to wait to play it.
maybe a month, maybe more?? We are playing it by ear.
There is the KFT event this week and the WCG event next week, both in Lakewood Ranch area, sadly we wonāt be able to check either out in person. Ironic that I am so close, yet not closer than if I were home 1000 miles north watching on tv.
Anyone play Legacy? It looks like it is the closest public course near my parents place.
Spectators are allowed at this weeks KFT event. Tickets are still for sale.
Iāve played Waterlefe, Legacy and Lakewood Commander down in that area. I really enjoyed and would recommend Waterlefe and Commander. Legacy can kiss my ass, but that might be the fact the wind was blowing like 25 mph that day and I couldnāt keep the golf ball on the planet.
hey yāall. iām coming down to the st pete area from atlanta for a wedding this weekend and finally figured out i have time on friday post noon, maybe sat morning, and/or sunday for nine holes.
any recs either in town, st pete or on
the way down i75 for a good/best 9?
Where are you staying? Based on hotel, you might be able to play the Vinoy, which is very close to downtown St. Pete. Usually in great condition. It might be worth just calling them and seeing if you can play regardless of hotel. I am unsure what the policy is these days. Otherwise, most of the good courses close to St.Pete are private clubs, so if you have any connections in the area, I would hit them up and see if they can get you onto Feather Sound CC, Bayou, Seminole Lake, Belleair etc. If you have time, you can always drive the hour up to Palm Harbor and play at Innisbrook. Enjoy! Good time to be in FL.
I may be available Sunday to host at Sara Bay. Shoot me a message
Thanks, I havenāt played in months due to work so iāll probably shoot close to 100 anyways. Iām on the Tampa side, I live pretty close to UT.
Hey Tampa! Iām still fairly new around here. Moved down from Pittsburgh last summer.
Iāve played the full public circuit in Tampa and havenāt been too pleased, so Iām about to join East Lake Woodlands with the cross bay membership. On the weekends, I caddy at Old Memorial too.
Iām a high single-digit right now after a 2-year post-college retirement period. Would be open to playing with other players in the area!
Also, a question: I have 2 guests coming to Siesta Key next week, so looking for a good round down in that area on Saturday 2/27. Iām thinking Lakewood National Commander course? Open to suggestions. Cheers!
Welcome! Iām from the Pittsburgh area as well. You can check out University Park Country Club in Sarasota too. Itās pretty nice but also pretty spendy. Anytime you need a fourth or just looking to tee it up let me know.
