Roll Call: South Carolina Golfers

The fun at Furman doesn’t start til 13

I wouldn’t say I’m interested in saving money, just getting what I’m paying for. It’d be hard to not feeling like I’m wasting money by paying $20 and not taking the cart…you know, those mental hurdles us golfers blame everything on.

I see TCC as a bridge opportunity. Eventually, I do plan on joining a private club but need to spend the time researching and making the right choice. I want to find a club before I buy property. My last club was 15 minutes away in the wrong direction, would love to be either on the course or no more than 5 minutes.

Visiting Charleston for my 30th birthday in February (2/10-2/13). Planning on playing the Muni. Also going to throw out a couple TG requests some of the private clubs in the area. If those requests aren’t successful, what would be the 2nd public course to line up after Muni? Or is the Muni x2 the play?

Appreciate some feedback. First trip down to Charleston. Gladly will take multiple food recs as well!

More specific Charleston info (for food and golf) in here:

Just found the Trap Draw: Charleston thread as well. Will be doing some reading tonight. Thanks!

I’m quite familiar with the public golf around Aiken/Augusta but as for the others, what would you say are 3 public courses you would want to play or show off to others coming in from out of town?

Yo what is this about?

You working it?

Hahaha unfortunately no I will not be working it. Used to caddy at Champions retreat where the 1st two days of the tournament occur but with the new job have since given up the 2nd job. Excited to get to take my wife to the tournament. I’m planning on getting a list together of shirts and sizes for people who would like me to pick them up something while I am there, but I want to wait until were a bit closer to put that out.

We talked about it at Vibestock but I’ll be there too. Let me know if you run across any extras. Trying to take the oldest.

Any refugees in the Columbia area playing on Friday 12/31 and need 1 more? In town visiting my sister, but I have the day off and she’s working.

I’m planning to play. Don’t have anywhere lined up at the moment but can let you know. What area of town are you staying?

West Columbia / St. Andrews area.

Cool, I grabbed 7:33 at Oak Hills. Does that work? I know it’s early, but they were booked until after noon and there’s rain possible.

Sorry, she’s now off on Friday. Service industry life. I appreciate the offer and will re-connect next time I’m in the area!!

No problem, enjoy your day. Anyone else want to play Friday morning?

Wish I could. I have some non golf friends who wanted to play Friday.

They wanted to sneak in that 2nd round of the year :joy:

Godspeed. I’m thinking an early start might avoid the logjam that will be out there if it’s 75 and dry.
