Roll Call: South Carolina Golfers

I’m not opposed to paying one bit. It’s an opportunity to check off a well known course and if it isn’t overrated, I would do it.

Then I’d do it. Some of my lowcountry guys could speak to how the conditioning would be in May but I really enjoyed the course.

Thanks. Interested to hear other opinions as well, but I know you have seen some great ones! I saw your map had like 300+ tracks.

Thank you! And for sure get some other opinions. Golf courses are definitely in the eye of the beholder. And, unfortunately I don’t have a lot of experience in HHI golf.

I’d love to get something together, maybe a meet-up of some kind? Unfortunately we were group A-2 on tickets for Sat/Sunday and didn’t get picked! We had 2 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. Was anyone else able to keep their tickets?

definitely play it. One of the few courses that I would go back and pay a high rate again. Just love it.

Will be in Charleston for a few days next week and planning a round for Friday. Was looking at either the Muni or Stono Ferry.

I know the Muni redesign is great but have heard the conditions are not great yet with the grass growing in fully everywhere.

Any advice from the locals?

Make it an afternoon round and I might be able to join. I’m from Columbia, so can’t speak to the Muni, but my folks live near Stono. Played early Feb and was in good condition. Was raining that day so soaked, but still good.

Well that is something. Wonder how many fans will be allowed out there.

I bet the conditions are better at Stono, but the Muni is awesome. I’d definitely vote Muni, especially if you are staying close to downtown. Stono is 30 ish minutes away

Ridgeland Average Temp in June- 89 degrees
Etobioke Average Temp in June- 75 degrees.

Oh boy.

89 degrees my ass. Thermometer might say 89 but it’ll feel 103. June isn’t Satan’s Butthole season yet, but it is nudging up to it.

Muni is hot for getting on right now. I’m playing it tomorrow and can provide feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. My brother in law is local hence the feedback on Muni. Still leaning that way because the layout looks cool.

@EZmiss likely trying to get out early since I have “other obligations” later that day but will let you know if we slide into the afternoon

I hear thats an excellent golf course in the middle of nowhere.

Like, I have no idea where the golfers will stay, much less fans.

In 2019 they were making hard pitches to get the 2025 (now 2026) President’s Cup that ultimately went to Medinah. This could be another opportunity for them to show off what they have for a one-off event. The logistics will be interesting for sure, but The Concession made it seem possible.
