Roll Call: South Carolina Golfers

do they still do the Guest Days on the 3rd Thursday’s? Discounted rates if I recall.

Great idea. I’ll see how many groups we can get.

Let me know when this is happening and if I can I’ll come down!

Stayed there while working VC summer outage. Nice area, played Timberlake in mornings after nightshift. Hoping to be back there this fall. Also played oak hills and cobblestone while I was there.

Hey all, Ill be visting the Charleston area from Chicago at the end of feb for a wedding. Looking for recommendations for where to play and If anyone would be interested in playing also. Thinking of 18 holes Friday morning 2/26 and maybe 9 holes 2/25 in the early morning. Im a high handicap of 21 so not looking to break the bank on a championship course, just something with nice SC charm if that makes sense. Thanks

Thursday Feb 18th is our next guest day. What time do y’all want to play that day? I’ll get 2-3 times—so up to 10-15 guys.

I’ll go with the group consensus. Noonish preferred.

I moved to Charleston a few years ago after living in Chicago for 7 years. If it is your first time, you will have a blast(I don’t miss that snow you guys are getting one bit).

I’d say it depends on where you are staying. If you are staying downtown, I’d say 1. Charleston Muni 2. Patriots Point 3. Stono Ferry

The new muni renovation really reminds me of Mt. Prospect GC. Much different setting
(has plenty of Lowcountry charm), but same course idea with the template holes. It is probably your best bet and bang for your buck. You have to go on their website 7 days in advance at 7 AM to ensure you get a tee time. PP is convenient, not very difficult, has cool views but isn’t my favorite course. It is also a bit pricey for what it is. Stono Ferry is a good option, but is 30 minutes from downtown. Unfortunately we don’t have the greatest public golf options here(unless you want to drop $$$ on Kiawah or to a lesser extent Wild Dunes).

Happy to answer any questions or help

Can’t make that day sadly. You guys have fun though!

I should be able to make this work. Group consensus is fine with me. Assuming walking is fine?

I play out of Holly Tree. Southern Oaks and Furman are solid tracks.

Wife is doing vaccines at the stadium and is either morning or afternoon. That’ll dictate when I can get out there. I’ll let you know when I find out

You can walk. My guess is have to pay the guest day rate regardless.

You happen to know how much the guest rate would be?

@drv4show can get you that info.

Got a random ask for anyone that lives in Hilton Head. I played Atlantic Dunes for the first time early last month and it was my favorite course we played. I forgot to get a yardage book. Is there anyway a fellow Nester would help a brother out and mail me one next time they go? I will sent money for yardage book and shipping.
