Roll Call: South Carolina Golfers

Hey guys, relatively new to the group but glad to be here! I am over in the Lexington area.

Have a threesome of guys looking to play somewhere this upcoming Saturday in the general midlands area. Currently have a tee time at Oak Hills, and would love to add a fourth. Shameless plug but we would love to play with a somewhere new if anyone wanted to host a cool group of guys! We are all around 15 handicaps and are happy to buy drinks/lunch!

Hit me up if you’re looking to hop in at Oak Hills or elsewhere!

Golf course is only open Thursday-Sunday during preview play.

Hopefully next time you are down we can make it happen.

Just got to play 36 at Old Barnwell on Friday and 18 at Tree Farm yesterday (not to mention 36 at Aiken GC on Saturday). All 3 were top notch but not sure I’ve ever had as much fun playing golf as I did at Tree Farm. It is an absolute blast.

Roger that - Thanks LB

Did you play in TFE event?

Yeah. It was so much fun. We also lucked out and my brother and I were selected to pay an exorbitant amount of money to play the Tree Farm.

Awesome, are you doing the Muni event next year?

I haven’t decided if it’s worth the money. Pretty steep price for an event at the Muni that costs me $40 to play regularly.

I had the same hesitation but rationalized it with some food, gift, event and other stuff thrown in.

Yeah that’s solid rationale. For the event we just played in, we all got Zero Restriction zip up vests with the name of the event embroidered on the chest. It’s a really nice gift.

Questions on Old Barnwell for you guys… They’re taking public tee times for April 7, I’m going to be in town for the ANWA.

Is it worth the money, they’re asking $2k for a 4 some?

If so, I need 3 other people to join me for a round; anyone interested!

It is an absolute gem of a course

Whether it’s worth that is entirely up to how you associate access/value. Most the people playing these courses that week have fuck you money so $500 isn’t a blink.

Good luck finding locals to join you though, maybe if it came with an ANWA ticket…

I was lucky enough to play 36 there one day for the Fried Egg event. It’s definitely a fun course and has amazing architecture. If you’re playing in a foursome of people who have never played it before then it won’t be as fun as someone who has course knowledge and be your course Sherpa. There’s tons of shots that people who’ve played it before know to hit vs what you think you should do which could make the course a lot more difficult. It gets more fun each additional play
