Roll Call: Pittsburgh and Western PA

I’m trying to walk the front 9 on Sunday if I can get out as well.

Pretty sure they’ll let you play during the rapture at this course. Nothing to write home about but it gets the job done when you’re looking to get some swings in mid-winter. Can’t beat it for $9 all you want to walk on the weekends.

Maybe. But I’d rather not play than play there.

A few of use are member of NewClub. I play Cranberry Highlands quite a bit. Love that place.

NewClub.golf if you’re interested. We are heading to Sweenens in about a month and again in April.

Cranberry highlands was probably the most enjoyable round of golf I had this past fall.

Unfortunately, once CH is shut down for the winter, they’re closed. As far as I understand things. They don’t open for a warm December day or anything.

This isn’t true. They were open over the holidays. Usually if the weather spikes like it did a few weeks ago they’ll open up.

I know they were open between Christmas and New Year.

When I called, they said the pro shop was open (for gift cards and memberships and the like), but the golf course was not.

I’ll call again the next time it’s decent and see what they say. Their site also said they were closed and had no tee times listed.

So, I’ll call again next time. That course should drain reasonably well.

Yeah over the holidays the site said open so I called to confirm. Course was actually quite busy

Hermitage, PA checking in… I moved up here from Greentree back in 2015 and I can’t believe how many top quality golf courses there are within a reasonable drive.

Oaktree CC
Avalon Lakes/Squaw/Buhl/New Castle
The Lake Club
Youngstown CC
Kensington
The Link at Firestone Farms
Reserve Run
Boulder Creek

If any of those ring a bell to anyone let me know when this stupid weather breaks and lets go play. I usually like to get 8-12 guys together for weekend money games.

South Hills (Dormont) checking in. Grew up in Westmoreland County playing Carradam (RIP), Manor Valley, then later Links at Spring Church, Madison Club, Cedarbrook, etc.
Getting back into playing again after a hiatus now that my 9 yr old is interested. Planning to hit South Park and Mt. Lebo a lot this summer. Always looking for opportunities to get out during summer especially, as I work in education.

Cedarbrook Gold or Red now that’s a good question?

Use to play Carradam every Sunday as a kid growing up.

Mostly Gold

Had junior pass for a few summers. Great deal, as long as I could get rides there.

I’m checking out this site right now, what is the purpose of it? what are the benefits of joining, i feel like i’m missing something

Checking in from the strip district, definitely looking to hit a few courses around the area this season. Haven’t played much golf around the pittsburgh area yet, just moving here from an hour-ish north of the city.

Hi guys new to the page, I live in Latrobe.

Hi guys, I moved to Pitt from Boston relatively recently and still feeling out the golf scene here - Does anyone have any intel on Hillcrest CC? I’ve been looking at possible memberships for the summer and it looks like they are offering a great deal. Too good to be true?
