Also if anyone has any insight into the We Ko Pa resort that would be great, that’s our groups early front runner.
Are you trying to stay at the hotel and the surrounding area or okay with an Uber into the general area?
More curious how the restaurants/bars are there. We have an Abnb not too far from there, thinking about hanging out there for an evening.
No real recs up that way but We Ko Pa’s courses are great. Best in town. I’m sure the resort is lovely as well. That’s a fun program your work has set up. Enjoy your time down here!
Any refugees who don’t want to work next Friday, the 19th, I have 2 spots open for 11:12am at San Marcos. It’s running around $80 these days and the weather is scheduled to turn back to 70 and not have frost delays.
I’m visiting a friend in Scottsdale this weekend and I’d like to play golf Monday morning on my way back to Tucson. What’s a good course for a good value??
We ate there after playing at Talking Stick this spring.
New Orleans style food in a small place just off the casino floor. Ocean Trail I think.
It was pretty good. They’ll spice it up good.
Not sure if I’d make the trip just for that but if you’re in the casino it’s a suggestion.
Yo peeps!
I am in town and have a 12:20 tomorrow @ Boulders, looking for one more person. It would be a $170 “guest” fee. If anyone is interested please DM me!
This is a random post, but I don’t know a more appropriate thread. I was at work this week (i work in surgery) and there was a guy in the operating room who I didn’t know and he didn’t know me. And the conversation got on golf without me really contributing, and the guy says “I follow these guys called No laying up, and I don’t know too much about them. But I know one guy rides irrationally for tommy Fleetwood. So much so that the dude decided to fly to England Saturday of the open, only to watch Tommy lay a freaking egg on Sunday”. So anyway, if that guy is on this thread, shout out to you brother. That made my day. @Tron
Big day for Tommy lad tomorrow
I had a work NLU encounter yesterday also. I work weekends at the Popstroke in Scottsdale and commented on someone’s NLU hoodie which led to a discussion about this place. Hi Jake!
Hey Dylan, sorry for the delayed response. I tried to look at what was available on GolfNow but didn’t see a ton of great options assuming you want to play before 2:30. My go tos for good value are the munis (Dobson Ranch, Aguila, GCU, mainly) but they all seemed pretty booked. Tbh, I think it’s a bit tough to find good value this time of year. Even the budget courses are now charging around $100+ and it’s tough to justify the price tag. Maybe others can chime in with some good value finds this time of year because, honestly, selfishly I’d be interested in knowing where they are too.
One spot just opened up for tomorrow at GCU. I know it’s late notice but reply or DM if interested in that spot.
In if it’s still available
See you tomorrow!
Hey Hey! Glad the wayward logo sparked up the unexpected convo. Nice to meet you and hope to get a round in sometime!
Reminder that you can still put your name on the waitlist to play in this even. Spots might start to open up in the next few weeks.
Can’t wait to see how many balls I lose next month, first time playing desert golf
Consider adding a desert club. You’ll be fine
For sure, I have a spare 7i hanging around I don’t use so I think that might be my most versatile option
