Roll call: Phoenix/Scottsdale

TPC Champions is such a fun course. Very solid decision.

Absolutely, just get it in when you can

Hey guys - I am an assistant basketball coach in my spare time at Cactus Shadows High School. We are having a fundraiser for the boy’s and girl’s basketball programs at Papago on September 25th. Get that one final round in before the overseed! It is $400 / four-some, so $100 a player. There are single and two-some options as well. We will be doing a four-person scramble format. Price includes, golf, cart, range balls, and a BBQ dinner after. There will be raffle prizes as well. All proceeds will benefit the basketball programs.

Would love to see you out there! Let me know of any questions!

I have a 9:08am tee time Saturday morning at Wigwam Red. If anyone is interested there is still a single available at that time. Would love to have another Nester join for the quota round

Leaderboard update with a few gaps left to fill

I was -5 for July. (Corrected!)

Also, does anybody in the NW valley (@CBDeerAntler81, @KMola14, @Daler75) want to volunteer to finalize if we’re changing the par / scoring on any of the TPC Champions holes?

I’m for keeping it consistent with the score card, but I wasn’t really in on that Convo before so I’ll leave it up to you gents

I haven’t played a round at TPC yet, so not sure if there’s a good hole that it makes sense to adjust. I’m fine with keeping with the scorecard.

Playing it straight up

Was the 17th a par 3 or 4 for us at Wigwam? Still not sure what we decided. If it’s a 4 then my score for July is +2 I think.

Our group scored it as a 4, I missed a 2 by a revolution

Will update your score

I think that’s the best move. As outlined previously there are some options out there, but all feel like Mike Davis trying too hard.

The course already has a pretty decent amount of birdie, even eagle, opportunities.

I made 4 on 17 as well (missed a 3 footer for refuge birdie, wigwam par), forgot about that. I was +5 for the round after the adjustment

Things are tightening at the top

Would be cool to get some groups out to TPC again together, and stick the top guys out there together

Golf is a funny game. Had a tournament last week at Legacy. Shot 75. 3 birdies, one double and a couple bogeys. Played really solid. Nothing outrageous, but played like I think I can play.

Cue today at Wigwam for the quota round. Never felt comfortable. Never could get the greens which were god-awful slow. Fought a pull hook off the tee all day, which is most definitely not a normal shot in my repertoire. Shot 90. 0 birdies. 4 pars. 10 bogeys. 4 doubles. 18 points. My course hdcp is 9. 36-9 = 27. So I was 18 - 27 = -9. Horrible.

Not that I was in any way competitive after the first couple rounds, but this cemented my status in the bottom.

Anyway, looking forward to getting back out to TPC Champions. One of my low key favorite courses, even though I’ve played it less than 5 times in my life. Golf!

Yup, definitely took some getting used to, remember feeling like I crushed my first putt and it was fine

Didn’t realize we were scoring 17 as a 4. If that is the case @Jwest3106 and I both got a 4 so we would each have one extra point for a “par”.

Wait. 17 at Wigwam was a par 4? I made 3, which would be a birdie? If so, that makes me -7, not -9. Still horrible, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.

Sorry all, I thought this was a known thing…seems like the opposite was the case

Updating scores as we go (have the West boys and @kickinastro) – let me know any others hanging out there

No changes to TPC for August
