CC ain’t all that great these days. They must have a new grounds crew because they can’t mow the fairways for shit. Every hole looks about 15 yds wide.
Heading to Orlando from the UK on Tuesday. Citrus Farms on Wednesday, Grand Cypress on Saturday and Orlando CC on Sunday.
Will I be OK pitching up at Winter Park early on Monday morning (November 18th) for a quick nine as a single or should I pre-book?
Needless to say, Scotland’s current cold weather has me looking forward to it immensely!
Finally got around to playing Clermont National (fka Sanctuary Ridge) - place is pretty awesome now. Everything they’ve done with the driving range area and the F&B inside the clubhouse is great. I couldn’t really tell much difference in the course since the reopening except for much better conditions. Maybe a new fairway bunker on 18? I’d vote it as one of the better <$100 tee times in the Orlando area.
Couldn’t agree more. It is really great now. Hate warming up on mats but minor complaint.
I’ll be in the Orlando area (Staying in Lake Buena Vista) for a Disney trip in late January. I’ll be able to get one round in of golf. Since the trip will already be expensive where would people recommend playing on a Friday for around $60-$80?
Have a few days booked for Disney at the end of January. Looking to add a few days on the front end of the trip at a kid friendly resort / rental within the Orlando area. Anyone have any suggestions?
Also might have time to add a round of golf. Open to ideas there too!
Can’t recommend Evermore Resort more highly, perfect for family stuff. Everything is brand new, great options for food and activities and excellent spots for a date night for parents. 2 very fun golf courses as well and right next to Disney.
Add me as a plus for Evermore, also Disney courses are NOT worth it. 5 hour round on a glorified swap that’s constantly CPO
+1 for Evermore. Played both the courses on a visit back in November. Hard to decide which I preferred.
Although I like what they tried to do with 1 and 18 on Links but it’s not St Andrews.
You’re right…it might be better

Restaurant Recommendations? - This is probably addressed above but to avoid scrolling - 8 guys on a 4 night golf trip next week. Staying in Kissimee. Any restaurant recs for dinner? I’m the youngest guy at 48 so no interest in night life or heavy booze locales.
Sorry if this is repetitive for the thread.
Whereabouts in Kissimmee? It’s pretty large, in the tourist corridor I imagine?
Ok yeah so Reunion. As you probably expected it’s mostly chain restaurants in that area. Being near Old Lake Wilson Rd. will be able to get you up to 192 at the very least. Otherwise that Championsgate/Reunion area is flush with Longhorn, Olive Garden, Chili’s things of that nature.
I’d recommend checking out Sickie’s Garage, great burgers not too far from where you are at.
If you’re willing to take the plunge and dine at Disney Springs which also isn’t too far from where you’re at. Jaleo, Morimoto Asia, Summer House on the Lake are all absolute slam dunks.
For chains Chuy’s & Lazy Dog are my two picks.
There is also the town of Celebration which is close by, Columbia Restaurant & Reggiano’s are solid spots. Just stay away from Celebration Town Tavern, place is awful.
Awesome - thanks for the tips!
If you’re cruising around Disney Springs you gotta hit up my favorite Mexican joint El Patreon their artisan tacos are so cool and unique. My favorite is their fried pork belly
Awesome - thx. Reservations booked at Reggianos and El Patron during our stay. Thanks boys!
Played OCN Crooked Cat yesterday. It’d probably been over 4 years since I’d played it last, but still remembered a fair amount of the course.
Conditions were great, greens were firm and fast and fairways had a nice amount of winter rye on them. Perhaps the most surprising thing was the pace of play - I was expecting a 5+ hour slog, but the staff was keeping things moving very well, and we finished in just over 4hrs.
