Played with a guy yesterday who was very effusive about Winter Park. Might see if I can join you one day.
Friday skins!
Have 2 spots at Eagle Creek on Saturday afternoon at 2p & 1 spot at Huntington Hills in Lakeland on Sunday at 8:36.
Deltona is fantastic. Always try and make an effort to play there when in the area.
Was lucky enough to play all three of the courses (The Wedge, The Squeeze, Karoo) at Cabot Citrus Farms today. That place is incredible. Once the sod matures and grows in, and they get The Roost finished… not many places I’d rather spend time. Such a cool vibe there, such a great place to just hang out too.
Can you expand a bit? What makes the courses so good?
I mean I might be biased slightly because I’m from Canada and don’t get to play courses like them often. But overall I’d say what they’ve done is great. I played with a friend of mine and another gentleman who are both big architecture guys and they said it’s (Karoo) probably a little overdone from a shaping standpoint, but it’s just as good as World Woods was if not slightly better. Some people might say otherwise because they’re sentimental but objectively that’s what they were saying. The par 3 course doesn’t have a hole much more than 100yds but the greens are wild and make it really fun while also not being too easy. The Squeeze is a little more toned down than Karoo but still has some wild movement and chances to get really creative. All in all, depending where the pins are set on any given day, you could be playing an entirely different golf course.
All this talk about Deltona Club, I booked a time for next Sunday AM (8:52) if anyone wants to join
Cabot Citrus reviews are strong.
Super Bowl Sunday?
You’re a week off Tex. Hope you didn’t already make plans for 2/11 ![]()
I’ll be down in Orlando area the 8th-12th, just clarifying what “next week” meant.
And if I’m being completely honest, I really don’t care about the SB ![]()
You’ve got a nice itinerary with Grand Cypress and CCO. CCO has a few quirky holes, but is a nice property. Enjoy your bachelor party.
Thanks! It should be a ton of fun between golf, a Solar Bears on Friday, and a few other things sprinkled in. Plus, getting out of Minnesota for a few days doesn’t hurt
Played today. Course is in rough shape according to some members, but fuck me sideways does that have potential to be a good course. The 1st and 18th holes are fantastic. Would love to see it with a bigger budget and some leadership for the staff
Still looking for a couple to fill our tee time at Deltona Club this Sunday (8:52a) @ASplashOfOJ
Going to be in Orlando for a few days next weekend, have royal st cloud scheduled already per some recommendations. Any other course I should look to get booked? Will be with a few other guys who are semi-serious players
I will always vouch for Celebration but you’re looking at the most expensive time to play it. Not sure I can say it’s worth the current $135 - $168/ golfer.
If you’re going to pay high season prices might as well get a high season experience. Grand Cypress Links Course and Southern Dunes are top end public spots. Eagle Creek is in fine shape right now as a mid level option. WP9 is lots of fun if you haven’t played it yet.
Edit: this was meant as an “in addition to Celebration”
I’ll throw out a word of warning on Celebration. A guy I played with a few weeks ago said it’s the conditions are terrible. His exact words were “some of the worst tee boxes I’ve ever played on, anywhere. A few were without grass.”
I haven’t personally verified but trust the dude that told me.
