Federal holiday adds more competition for tee time times. Achievable with the diligent pre-planning described above; delusional to the think you’ll just show up and walk on.
OK that explains a lot. Thanks!
shit. I didn’t even realize it was a holiday. that definitely makes it harder at WP9 or anywhere.
that fucking daft MIL of mine gave me a day off from disney on the toughest day to golf possible.
Played Grand Cypress this morning and absolutely loved it. Couldn’t have been a more pleasant time, other than getting waxed by my wife after I gave her 18 strokes. We went off at 8:20 and only had a twosome in front of us and nobody behind. Best part was the wife really enjoyed herself, but winning tends to do that.
Headed back to Royal St Cloud tomorrow for likely the last round of the trip given the forecast Friday doesn’t look real hot. Hard to beat $50-ish for the round out there.
Hey now! #refugeafterdark
If you enjoy donuts check out Sip N’ Dip on your way to the course, not too shabby.
If you’re looking for lunch after there’s a little dive bar called the Canoe Creek Sports Tavern about a mile and a half from the course. Great cheese fries and wings with a decent selection of beer.
After 5 years of working 3rd shift and attempting to get WP9 tee times, they almost always drop at exactly 12:35am.
Playing GC on Monday and really excited to get out there!
It was in great shape. With the construction they’re only allowing play in the morning so way less traffic out there. Best I could tell there was 1 single and a twosome in front of us. It just couldn’t have been anymore pleasant of a time.
Played RSC again today. This time was white to blue, which was nice as we did red to white the first time around. Really enjoyed the Blue 9, it had kind of a poor man’s aussie sand belt vibe going on. Bunkers there are a bit of a tough scene conditioning wise, but that’s really about the only complaint I had, otherwise thought it was a great facility for the price.
Regretting not taking up either the donut or dive bar recommendations, but we’re trying to clear out the food we bought for the timeshare.
Somewhat regretting not getting out to other courses, but was somewhat scarred by Kissimmee and wasn’t feeling too adventurous today. Also with both greens fees coming out of the same bank account its a little hard to justify some of the more expensive options.
@tnord and who(m)ever else, I’ll be in town from Michigan at the exact same time, Feb 15th-23rd. I’m looking to get out at least two times outside the resort we stay at (Orange Lake, don’t love the golf there for the prices they charge). I see that Grand Cypress comes highly recommended and of course I’d love to go see WP9, if I can snag a time. I’m down for almost anything else within an hour. Would love to play with some FL refugees!
I could play on 2/20
I could potentially play on the 20th also, need to check with the fam on timing.
I am considering going to the Arnold Palmer Invitational this year. For those that have attended in the past:
- What’s the best day to go?
- Any tips on parking?
- Anything else I should know?
Hope this helps ya!
Very much so, thanks!
Hello friends,
I am looking to setup a trip for 8 of us to head down to Bay Hill for a few days. I am unable to locate any stay and play info on their site. Has anyone gone there and, if so, who have you used for a stay and play package?
I appreciate the help!
Thx
Considering the group size, you should probably just call but here’s their reservation Link
I dont know if this helps, never been to bay hill
