Almost! Unfortunately Nona was closed for aerification
are there more details of this anywhere to read about?
Not that I’m aware of. I only know what I’ve been told from guys who work there. If I recall correctly they’re closing down after March through November or December.
I just heard they may not be doing the renovation because the price tag was something like $25M.
I’d be shocked if the price tag was what stopped that place.
Definitely try to play the other course at Grand Cypress, I follow the superintendent on Instagram and it looks like it’s a great shape. Supposedly it’s a composite course from the North, South, and East course. Plus you might want a second crack at the New Course.
Also Bay Hill is cool but complete let down considering all the hoops you have to jump through to play there. Considering 17 runs along a cul-de-sac and 18 is a completely blind tee shot.
Reunion and Bella Collina is definitely worth the drive. OCN is nearby and a ton of fun as well.
WP9 is not worth the drive from LBV.
How has nobody mentioned Dubsdread yet? A morning round at Dubsdread with lunch at the Taproom (arguably the best 19th hole in town) followed by an emergency nine at WP9 is what it’s all about. A solid muni double-header.
Greens are nice at dubs right now too.
This is music to my ears. I live 3 minutes from Dubs and 10 from WP9. I’ve played both on the same day on multiple occasions.
And the greens at Dubs are super pure. They’re doing one last round of punching (small punches) Monday, 9/12. But they’ve already gotten the greens to be excellent 2-3 times this summer. So I’m sure they’ll do it again within a few weeks after that.
Hey, Orlando crew! With the storm behind us, I thought it might be a good idea to post course conditions here to let each other know which places are coming back faster than others.
I’ll be at Dubs tomorrow for my son’s golf lesson and will get a feel for how they’re doing, if they suffered any damage that isn’t quickly fixable, etc. I’m sure there are some low-lying courses still working through the aftermath.
I’m hoping to play next Friday morning somewhere and obviously want to avoid anything still mucky or damaged.
WP9 is getting close. Bunkers are the biggest issue. I saw Keith out there in a bobcat repairing them. Many of them caved in of have huge crevasses.
The Orlando Golf Network FB group has a ton of photos of other places. I am shocked LBV isn’t CPO.
Curious how dubs faired. I assume a lot of the course was under water but never saw any pics.
A bit outside Orlando, Legends in Clermont is pure right now, a group of us were out there Sunday. Excellent shape.
Playing WP9 tomorrow with @dinonuggets at 4:30 and will report back. If anyone wants to join there should be two spots open as of now. Holes 12-14 at CCO got flooded pretty good but I’ve already been seeing people on the tee sheet. Haven’t been out there since Friday when I scoped out the damage but would imagine it’ll be back to normal within the next few days or by the weekend.
Legends is in great shape right now like @Big_RanDeer said. Might a bit far for you, though. Can always check the Splash of OJ roost slack too. There were a few conversations on there about conditties. There are some good events happening soon, too. Link to the slack is below!

WP9 was in fine shape today all things considered. Bunkers were still washed out but the greens were great. No debris in the fairways or anything. There was also a ton of avocados randomly sitting on one of the outside tables. Thought about taking one but didn’t.
Played Eagle Creek today. Wasn’t in the best shape. Greens were real shaggy and crazy slow. Fairways were alright.
LPGA International Jones course just hosted the Epson Tour Championship last weekend at it was in tournament ready shape.
Damn, those ladies are good.
Anyone going to the Isleworth Collegiate this weekend? Tickets are free
In town with family. I get one birthday round, what do I do? I was gonna drive to Streamsong but can’t play if I’m not staying on prop.
I’d probably go Tranquilo @ Four Seasons this time of year if they’re allowing play without staying on property. Or Ritz Grande Lakes, Disney Magnolia or Disney Lake Buenavista Vista.
