People have been sniping times at WP9 lately. It’s been brutal. They raised the price for members but they really need to raise it for everyone else.

WP9 has been mega-busy lately. I run a little Happy Hour golf group among ~20 friends. In 2020 and 2021, we were able to secure Friday afternoon tee times there well in advance because they were fine making an exception for a larger group.
But when I reached out to my same contact about this year, he said they wouldn’t do it any more because they’ve been so busy.

Hand up, I set an alarm and woke up in the middle of the night to book a weekend AM time for my dad and I last month, then called when the shop opened to book my replay. Even then I barely got the 2nd tee time.

That sucks, let me know how you get on. Any thoughts for a plan B? You still fancy a game somewhere else?

The closest to 3pm is a 2:12 that would be hard for me to make. I might have to call for a rain check on this one @Gordonn3.
Damn. I couldn’t do that either. I have a meeting that will run too close. 3 was going to be pushing it.

Hoping to pick the brain of a WP9 member, if we have one in here. I am flying into MCO next Thursday 4/28 ahead of Abandoned Dudes. Supposed to land a bit after noon. Am hoping to get on at WP9 with my cousin, who is a local (not a big golfer though). There is a scramble event that day starting at 3:30.
What are my chances of securing a tee time in the sweet spot of late enough for me to actually make it after baggage claim and rental car, but before the member scramble? 0-10%?

I think you’re okay but I’m an optimist. Say you land at 12:10, takes you 30 mins to get your bag, call it 40 to the course, gets you there around 1:45 latest.
I’d still book something closer to 2:30 so you can grab a bite on the way, but make sure you’re booking as close to after midnight when the times are released three days prior (if memory serves) because it books up fast.

I remain hopeful. @dshaddy gave me the “12:35am” release time heads up last month. I believe it’s tonight that I can check.
