Roll Call: Omaha/Lincoln

Anywhere but Iron Horse

Feels like someone was trying to troll me with the iron horse recommendation.

Please direct yourself to Iron Horse’s online reviews if you’d like to see the staff arguing with people who give them negative comments.

To all my GPGC Roostafari, I come before a humble captain needing you to fill out a form corporate had deemed necessary.

Please do so post haste and I don’t have to ask for any more favors.

Please please please fill out the form. It takes two minutes and that’s if you don’t have yet GHIN handy.

This isn’t too far for you guys. I know because I’m (eventually) headed your way after play on Saturday for the Cornstalk.

Looks like 5 of us @STROHS might have room for 3 (2 tee times) at Benson on 5/25 if anyone wants to join. Also, any lunch recommendations for the Benson area on the way over from the airport?

Hmmm…the easiest way to get to Benson from the airport is probably to stay north up on Sorensen Pkwy…and I can’t think of anything up that far up.

In Benson (cool gentrified bar and restaurant district) there’s a good pizza place called Virtuoso, but it can be kind of a long lunch if they’re busy. I really like the German bar called Barchen Beer Garden…awesome hot chicken sandwich and pretzel appetizer. Pretty close to the course but not a direct route from the airport…but I suppose if you take Abbot drive towards downtown and just stay on it as it becomes Cuming, you’ll run into NW Radial, which will turn into Maple and you’re right there in Benson. Then from there, the golf course is just a few minutes away.

Sweet. Was already thinking about the German spot. Hopefully, we’ve got enough time between the airport and tee time.

To the Nebraska Roll Call:
We recently had a withdraw for our RMR vs. STORHS event at Landman and due to time constraints will probably not be able to fill the spot. Would anybody want to fill the last spot for team STROHS. It is Memorial Day Weekend, $500 dollars for three rounds with tee gifts and many other fun things.

Got room for 3 on Saturday and Benson. 12:37/12:45

Room for 2

Hi all, we’re coming in this weekend for the event at Landmand and we had a tee time mid-morning Tuesday at River Wilds that just got canceled (they have a junior tournament and the tee she wasn’t blocked off). Looking for something else in the area before we fly home at 5pm but having some trouble.

Benson sounds fun but requires 3 people to book (WTF?). Anyone free and wany to join? Edit-apparently calling is the trick. Booked 2 for 1030am.

Indian Creek only has the Gray Hawk 9 available, nothing for 18? Weird, I wonder what gives?

Any other suggestions?

You’ll enjoy Benson! Actually should be a halfway decent warmup for Landmand, if you haven’t played there before. Some good elevation at Benson and big greens

Doesnt get much better than Benson for muni golf!

I’d call benson or Indian and book, you’ll likely get more flexibility. I’ve also showed up with less at both and not been charged a fee. You’ll be fine. Old Dane is very fun too if you want something closer to Landmand.

Any Lost Rail members or connections in here, I will be in Omaha and have a free day on Friday and I am dying to see LR. Last minute long shot but figured worth a shot??

Ill be flying into Omaha on the 13th and have that Saturday open. Best places to play in or around Omaha, and any food recs downtown?

I’m an Omaha resident, but also interested in Lost Rail members or connections

Indian Creek is your best option. It’s a drive from Downtown though. Block 16 is your spot downtown for food.
