Roll Call: Omaha/Lincoln

They did! I was fully expecting to be given credit towards a future tee-time but they refunded my CC right away.

Iā€™ve noticed on their twitter that one nice thing about the 20 min tee-time gaps is when they have a morning rain they just bump the 8:00 am group to 10:00 or whatever then go off every 10 minutes until the times are back to normal.

Ahhhhhh thatā€™s smart right there.

Yeah the 20 min tee times are nice but this day was a complete washout; they had gotten a ton of rain during the week and then that Saturday they just got dumped on. Would not have been an enjoyable experience, lol.

Looking at you, Omaha people. Iā€™m going to be down that way next Friday with my wife. Staying downtown and going to the Nate Bargatze show.

Iā€™ve been downtown and in the old market area a few times, but looking for any specific breweries we HAVE to hit. Weā€™ve been to a bunch but I donā€™t remember any of the names of course. Any restaurant recs are welcomed as well. We plan to eat a late lunch/early supper and then maybe some apps somewhere before the show. We are not fancy peopleā€”just want some good food and atmosphere.

Thanks in advance!

Block 16 is your spot for late lunch. If you want sports bar vibes for apps, Blatt or Session Room. If you go a bit fancier, lots of spots that play.

Brickway, Zipline, Site-1 are all solid spots for a brewery. Iā€™m not sure I would qualify anything downtown as ā€œcanā€™t missā€, but some solid options. Vis Major is cool if you want to drive a bit.

Enjoy the show!

Thank you sir!

Would agree there arenā€™t many ā€œcanā€™t missā€

If you are an IPA fan Kros Strain has a location just north of downtown and Lumen is just south of downtown both with solid beers.

The aforementioned Vis Major has decent snacks/light food. Also of note Zipline will do 20% off your tab if you mention you are going to the show and sometimes have to show a ticket. Enjoy!

Thank you!

I know itā€™s a long shot, but i have a spot open at 12:18 tomorrow at a course in the Des Moines IA area. If anyone wants the last spot, let me know.

Block 16 is always the answer. Trap room is my go to hidden gem bar for events at the arena. Good beer selection and cocktails not an intimidating atmosphere. New pizza place Dolomiti in millwork commons (near Kros Strain) is great. Site-1 brewing is good too if youā€™ve been to the more common ones.

Block 16 was legitā€”great call guys. Thank you!

Edit to add, my wife just now: ā€œyou can tell your little internet friends this was a really good recommendation. Maybe itā€™s not a total waste of your time always being on thereā€

I have a twosome walking Willow Lakes Monday at 1:26 if anyone wants to join.

Turns out there arenā€™t many courses open and with cold mornings and early sunsets there are quite few tee times to be had in town.

Booked a twosome Sunday at Pacific Springs at 11. Second spot is currently open if someone wants to join.

Hey Guys! Iā€™m going to be in Omaha on 5/25 if anyone would like to join me for a round. Also, Iā€™ve seen iron horse recommended. Any other recommendations?

I believe the general vibe consensus is anywhere BUT iron horse.
Indian Creek is our KFT venue and best nice public course
Benson is the best muni
Bent tree is the most unique course in our metro but itā€™s linksy nature is muted in soft spring vs baked out times of year.

Iron Horse has some good spots, but itā€™s kind of a goofy course. I like Benson better than Johnny Goodman, too.

Unpopular opinionā€¦IC is superbly conditioned, but kind of ā€œmeh.ā€ Iā€™ve shot good scores and bad scores, and I felt pretty much the same about it after each round.

Thanks for the heads up on IH. Benson sounds up right up my alley.
