Sy’s at 120th Blondo
I’ve been to others, none way out west though. Sy’s has best hours and does good work. Seems like all the tailors are quite busy (customers chatting about how it’s the 3rd place they’ve been, somewhere sent them away, etc.)

Before taking it to my buddy. What are the odds of me being able to call like 9-10 days in advance and getting a Sat/Sun tee time at Indian Creek? I’m assuming those odds would also go down on Labor Day weekend?
Kathy off 78/Dodge by Zio’s is great. Forgot what her shop is called but always used to go there when I lived in town.
I could be wrong, I thought Indian was a place that would only let you make a time a week in advance? Could be wrong though. I know I have called about a week in advance in summer/fall and been able to get a time though.
Perfect, thanks! Their website says up to 10 days in advance so I’ll try around then.
GI Tailor, that’s who I use for basics, but I haven’t had them taper yet. I’ve heard Sy is good too.
Can confirm the GI Tailor can taper well.
Ok guis, I’ve scrolled through the thread but I need an answer. What would be the three courses you would play in the Omaha area?
Public Only:
Indian Creek
Quarry Oaks
Benson
Public + Private:
OCC
ArborLinks
Indian Creek
If you don’t want to drive to Quarry, you could replace with… Goodman or Willow Lakes?
Thank you
I have no business makin recos for Omaha, I’ve only played there once at two mostly unappreciated places, but I found River Wilds north up near Blair too much fun. I think about that course more than I care to admit.
Shorter, ~6200 from the tips IIRC, but fun layout, plays really well over rolling terrain — on most holes. The front nine ends over relatively flat land, but with a quirky routing that has you fighting the wind, so still interesting…
When I go back to Omaha, I’d love to play OCC, and find Q at Indian Creek, but I will definitely make time to drive up to Blair and play River Wilds again.
Golf’s supposed to be fun, right?
Was tempted to chime in with the same idea. 9 holes are old, boring, flat, straight. The other 9 were added by one of Doakito’s associates, want to say Eric Iverson, some years back and they are very good. The fact that the new holes are interspersed among the old make it more fun than if it were just one nine is new and the other is old.
And those older greens are small, and have some contour. It’s all kinda interesting.
Anyone local play the ProV1X and need two dozen at a discount?
Taking a middle of Iowa trip in a few days. I’m wondering if anyone can provide comments to the walkability of the following 1=easy 10=death. Nebraska course comps would work also. Thanks!
Waveland
Tournament club IA
Veenker
Coldwater
Rathbun Preserve
Bos Landen
Thanks
I only have experience at three of the courses but Veenker and Waveland are walkable. TCI no way in hell would you walk there.
Anyone playing the Superintendents Revenge scramble at Bay Hills in Plattesmouth today?
Nebraska mid-ams not f’n around!
A sign up for The Return to the Birthplace of Strapped event next year has been posted. Sign up if you like a good time!
Shall we gauge interest for a Nebraska roost? Not sure if we’ll be big enough to be 1 of the 20 this year, but might as well get it started! You don’t have to be a Nest member to join a roost, so feel free to forward on to others.
It’s admittedly a lot of info, but the link to their outline is below too.
