Randomly paired up with the Toledo ladies coach and her husband at Ottawa Park today. He is involved with 419 putters and gav me one to test drive. It’s pretty, pretty good.

Great people as well. Couldn’t have had a better random pairing!

That’s a really good random pairing!

Jay, don’t let Jono fool you. He’s a Michigan guy and he’s mean.

Howdy, Ohioans. I’ll be coming into town Wednesday, my boss and I have golf setup Friday at The Medallion Club (4:12pm) and Saturday at Virtues (10am). Likely have an opening each day. Anybody interested in joining, shoot me a DM.

Looking for a sunday suggestion (or round if any of y’all are in Columbus/New Albany area and want to host us), preferably morning. Suggestions? Look to be so many courses in the area I don’t know where to go!!

You could look at Eagle Sticks. I’ve not heard a ton about it lately but it was well liked as recently as a few years ago. They used to have a deal with Longaberger (Virtues) when it was called Longaberger.

Go play Denison if you cannot find anything else.

Sadly Denison appears booked up…

Deer Ridge- Hour north of Columbus. Well worth the drive

We’ll give it a try! Room for 1 at 10:20 on Sunday if interested…

We didn’t enjoy it much at all last year. The front nine is a very different (and significantly worse) course than the back nine.

I’m personally a big fan. A few weaker holes on back, but you don’t see that many blind par 3s in central Ohio, reachable par 5s, 150 ft drop par 4s. Poa has really gotten into the greens so they don’t roll like they used to.

I’d love to but had 6 seizures 2 weeks ago one night and was in the emergency room and my shoulder has been killing me. Appreciate the offer

We counted nine blind (some dangerous) shots on the front nine (we included shots where you couldn’t see the ball land as blind - the 8th we played hybrids from the tees, and even at 245 or so out, you couldn’t see them land because the tee was flat for a long ways in front, blocking your view). We enjoyed the back nine more than the front nine. Pace of play felt like you were constantly looking to see if you could hit yet… including on the “par four” 9th (which is really an 80° dogleg par three).

Almost nobody in our group of 16 liked the course enough to want to return. “Quirky” was among the nicer words used.

Interesting how different our opinions are here.

One of my dads good friends hates the course- He says Quirky is being kind but my dad loves it. I love quirky courses bc I never grew up playing one.

I definitely feel you when it comes to the blind tee shots.

Damn man! Hope you feel better and the shoulder heals, and the seizures don’t turn out to be something major…

We are taking a last minute trip to Cincinnati this weekend. Staying in downtown area about 15 min from Great American Ballpark. Wanted to get a quick round in on Sat AM early as I can. Does anyone have any recommendations? I will have a car. Thank you in advance

I think @Randy would suggest avon fields

Saturday AM will be pretty busy at public courses so plan enough time for that. Avon Field is a par 66, very fun and unique course near Xavier. We’ve hosted a large refuge event there going on 4 years now. Other Cincinnati city courses to think about is California & Vineyard golf course. Hamilton County has a set of metropark courses that are generally good. Sharon Woods, Glenview, and (further out) Miami Whitewater. The public courses that would be considered nicer architecture and golf are going to be a drive if you are staying 15 min from downtown. Aston Oaks, Elks Run, Stonelick Hills are your bets there, each will be 30 min+ drive from your likely location.

Playing Youngstown Country Club tomorrow. I’m pretty pumped.

If anyone has ever been I’d like to know their thoughts.
