The state line

Wife is from WV and one of my favorite things is that WV and KY sorta have convinced themselves they’re in “The South” despite nothing historical indicating that. WV was literally created for the sole purpose of being not in the south. I’ll never really understand that. But yes, whiskey and horse racing are cool

It’s been pretty crazy seeing the difference. I had no idea Ohio was like this with the weather.

Shots fuggin fired…

I just called Yankee Trace and they said there is still snow and ice out there but they’re going to attempt to have the range open by noon today.

Oh that is nice. When looking at Yankee or Pipestone for Sunday we chose Pipestone because it was $39 to Yankee’s $49. Would have rather played Yankee though.

Are these offseason rates?

Yes. Yankee will cost more in the spring/summer

Those numbers are criminal for February. North or south Ohio. There’s no way the course is anywhere near even early season form is there? I guess I have never played spring golf in Cinci, so I don’t really know. Just makes me mad when courses don’t give you a break outside of May-September. Its the main reason I only play Bunker Hill in March/April, because its only like $20ish to walk and they put in some work to get it in decent shape fast.

Yeah this is why you’ll hardly ever find me playing Yankee Trace unless someone else really wants to play there. I’d much rather play two or three rounds elsewhere vs one round there.

The conditioning is very nice and the course is pretty solid though.

Counterpoint: Tell me the local courses where you can do that? I can think of 4.

All the “top tier” courses in Dayton are in the same ballpark price wise. With the City shutting down Madden and Kittyhawk the cheap courses aren’t exactly plentiful anymore.

I mean I’m not saying I can play a top tier course for less. Just that I’d rather play more golf, period.

Walking at Community is like $20-24 for 18 holes.

Christmas Eve when we had that crazy warm spell I paid I think $14 for what could have been an 18 hole walk out there.
