Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) and localized ice cream debates (Part 1)

So you’re saying you wanna play on the same team?! Noted.

Hey all,

I haven’t been active lately - I’ve gotten really busy the last six or eight weeks - but wanted to share this.

My cousin Tom is a PE (don’t call it gym) teacher at Shaw High in East Cleveland. He is trying to raise money to get a modest golf setup there because, well, it’s East Cleveland and they have nothing.

Anything you can do to help with this actual direct #growthegame effort would be really appreciated.

Thanks all!

This just gave me a wild flashback to my first PE class with Jim Michals (RIP).

I know you’re busy so this may not make sense, but so help me God, if PBP DC is involved in this charity…

Edit: @Brick in all seriousness, this is awesome. Forgive a dumb, non CLE native question—this is NOT the same as the Cleveland school district, correct?

Also, has your cousin looked into Firepit’s foundation? They may kick him some cash for something like this.

For all y’all in SW Ohio, I just saw an ad on Facebook that the Golf Exchange just opened up in Austin Landing and are offering free fittings this week.

See, the problem with getting fit is that then I’ll want to spend money I don’t have on clubs.

You could spend your money on a BRAND NEW GOLF BAG on SR.

I honestly do need one and when I saw it was a golf bag I got slightly excited for a second there. lmao

Whatcha got?

Oh I’ve got nothing, just directing more of a crowd over to the SR for some good old fashioned ribbing.

I think you can usually get free fittings at Golf Exchange as long as you make a purchase.

I think the SR “Rules” are quite stupid and arbitrary, but I do enjoy the absolute meltdown certain folks have every time someone dare breaks them.

At least they weren’t trying to sell a gnome

I’ve always had great experiences with Golf Exchange. While all the stores are solid, I think their best team is in the Eastgate location. They have some really knowledgeable and friendly gear heads.

Have no idea what you’re referencing. I walk away for one month and it’s all this newfangled mumbo jumbo lol

No this is East Cleveland - the hardest place in greater Cleveland.

And great tip! I forgot about the Firepit Collective’s foundation.

Yep exactly my reference! Lol

Grew up around Mr. Michals. We’re from the same town. Classic hardass with a heart of gold. Miss that guy.

I like the vibes and the deals that happen when the Silk Road functions properly so I’m all about enforcing the stupid and arbitrary rules.

I am reading this as no purchase necessary
