Roll Call: Ohio (OATW adjacent) and localized ice cream debates (Part 1)

I think the Cincinnati area is up to about 45 breweries, more if you expand beyond the 275 loop Cincinnati Beer Map

I’m not a huge fan of overly fruity beers, but if you all haven’t tried Rhinegeist Wowie, you’re shortchanging yourselves. I think it’s a pineapple passionfruit ale (i know, stay with me) but it is unbelievable.

Non-Beer related: I’m very much guilty doing the Cincinnati thing where if you ask anyone in the state where their from they’ll say “Cleveland” or “Dayton” but I say my high school “Oh I’m from Colerain” and I get a blank stare followed by me saying “It’s… in Cincinnati, sorry”. Its a reflex! I can’t help it. Anywho I’m ready for some good old Ohio high school football!

Hell yeah high school football!

Go (eleven time D-I state champ Cleveland St. Ignatius) Wildcats!

Colerain definatly should have more than our 1 title but being basically the lone public school “dynasty” its tough to get through ALL THOSE DANG GCL/PRIVATE SCHOOLS

Made the trip to Canton this past season for the Colerain/Ed’s state game, out-coached and a loooong drive home. Looking to avenge our lone loss this year with new HC Cutright at the helm! It all starts with Week 1 at Wayne and I’ll be there rooting for my Cards!

“We’re not Detroit!”

Oh, thanks for sharing those @LJP. I needed that belly laugh.

Any Clevelanders free next Tuesday PM or Wednesday anytime to get out? Not a member anywhere, but I’m down to pay my guest fee if anyone is and can get out. Still not Detroit!

Hey man, I’ll be looking to play in a few weekends. Weekend after Labor Day specifically. Any chance we could work something out then?

So, I was remiss: I didn’t post the traditional post-Denison get-together update. Saturday I got to join @schirmert, @back9fade, and @Livi for yet another round at Denison. No tales from the course this time around: just a heartfelt thank-you to three decent guys who know how to enjoy the game.

The thank you is owed to the man who set it up. Good round fellas lets do it again in a couple weeks.

It was a beautiful morning round. Took some mediocre photos of our walk. Denison Golf Club was fantastic and enjoyable. Thanks guys!

@TwoCents @Livi @schirmert walking up to the 4th green. I believe there were a couple pars here.

Looking back at the par 5 10th. @schirmert making a putt.

Looking at the extreme downhill drive into 18.

It’s still green! Courses on the west side here are browning out in a hurry

That’s the best.

I’m a big fan of 40 extra yards off the tee and dormant rough myself

Hope you got a picture of #12 after that eagle

I have an open spot in an outing this Sunday morning if anybody is interested.

Let me know. Delaware OH I should add

I should have but I was too amped to get to the next tee and pump a drive super far right.

Just now seeing this. Brookledge is a local favorite for me. Haven’t played there in awhile because it’s usually busy. Conditions are always solid. Looking at the yardage and most think, time to go low. Truth is, it holds its own.

Nice variety in holes. Nothing really repetitive. Greens vary as well. Quite a bit of undulation. I don’t really have any complaints. Nothing stands out as being a real negative to me. Maybe par 5 lengths but the positive is there are 4 great opportunities to put birdies on the card.

To sum it up, I’m a fan of it. Would be a good location for Strapped

I will not be able to attend as September is packed with travel and work, but a quick shout-out for @2PuttBogey’s annual charity golf outing.

Thanks for the bump! We just announced a few weeks ago that our Honorary Chairpersons and keynote speakers this year will be Urban and Shelley Meyer.

We put on a very high quality golf outing without putting on a premiere price tag.

Would love to see some people come out and help change the lives of children who just want a chance to grow up.
