I live in OTR.
Same here. Not ideal for convenient golf.
I’ve visited once from Cleveland and absolutely loved OTR. I’m getting some neighborhood envy over here. Can’t remember what was technically in it and what wasn’t, but I must have visited like 8 microbreweries and really enjoyed walking around. Rhinegeist was great and I seem to remember one that was in an old church that was really interesting (details are a little hazy on the rest).
Yea I lived in the central business district for a couple years when I moved there in 2014. So glad OTR had started to transform. I preferred that more than the banks area. But I havent been down in awhile. I hear the Banks has changed.
Taft’s…also a great brewery!
Hudy / Burger beer is the real Cincy beer.
I do like rhinegehiest though, even if they are starting to market towards 21 year old girls. Moerlins has some really good stuff too.
Had some good ol times back during kickball league at washington park with one dollar tecates right across the street at Anchor.
Played golf with the head brewer and another guy last fall at Avon Fields. Awesome guys, gave me an Oktoberfest. Awesome beer.
I’ll send you some!! They’re canning and distributing now
Better yet, I’ll hit you up next time I’m in town and split a 6er with you.
The old church one is Urban Artifact, great sours there. One of my favorites.
Rhinegeist beer is over-hyped swill. Every beer tastes the same.
The best breweries in Cincinnati (my opinion after living there the last 10 years and now moving)
- Madtree
- Tafts
- Fifty West
- Braxton
- 3 points
- Brink
Sheeeeeesh! They have a lot of solid options, madtree is way more experimental in their taproom, which in my mind is very hit or miss. Haven’t had 3 points yet.
This is ridiculous but it actually is a solid beer if you don’t picture the ice cream when you drink it
What the actual fsck?
Lol - Krogers up here sells it if you need some Cincy beer. They also have all the fruity rhinegeists. Favorite Columbus beer? Hilltop Lager - it’s not even close
I like Graeter’s. I like beer. Not sure I’d like the combo. Think I’ll stick to bourbon.
Also (and perhaps I’m just too old and provincial to know), what the hell is a “milk stout”?
I actually haven’t had greaters since moving here. A lot of people have specifically told me to try that flavor. Gonna have to get that stout
Oh, that particular flavor of Graeter’s is their signature hole. It’s quite excellent.
Just not as a beer.
I’m going to go pour myself two fingers of bourbon to set things right.
