Roll Call: North Carolina

7 spots left open cmon up and see if a NC refugee and can take it 3 years in a row

Not defending your title @Very.chipper ?

Some of the not to fancy but great eats around town IMO. Super quick list probably missed many as there are a lot of locally owned places around town that crush it.

Downtown Area:
Beer Barrio, great tacos and drinks
Fork N Cork, burgers
Savorez (personal favorite), Latin with a southern twist

In or near Mayfaire/IMAX theater:
Brixx Pizza, is it unique to ILM no but it right beside the theater
Bento Box, sushi/Asian

Around Town:
K38, Mexican
Wrightsville Brewing, really dont like their beer but their food is great
Tacos @ Satellite Bar

Thank you all for the suggestions. Have some great options to decide between. Will report back.

Not sure if itā€™s still there but Roko in Mayfaire is some of the best Italian food Iā€™ve had. I still think about it often

just went to True Blue: Butcher and Table a couple weeks ago across the street from Mayfaire if you are looking to class it up. Good spot.

Kipos is also a solid spot (have a location in Chapel Hill).

And a more beach vibe go to for me is Cevicheā€™s

To the awesome North Carolinian I played with at Arcadia Bluffs last Sunday: You and your FIL were the best pairing, my buddy and I holding things up were probably not which I feel badly about.

Would love to cover a golf scooter fee and some beers at Tobacco Road next time youā€™re out there. DM me with some sort of info that would prove it was you and the venmo will be on the way. No expiration date

Cheers and crack on

last call today, can NC 3 peat?

Good write up on Asheville Muni. Covers some course history, renovations, and the annual Skyview Tournament which happened last week and had its biggest turnout in years.

Speaking of Skyview, we had some notable entrants in the amateur division.

I donā€™t believe Mr. Joc, Mr. Scrappy, nor Mr. Mendeecees had played golf before, but they did take lessons at Grove Park the night before the opening round. Pace of play became an issue as they were filming TikToks and doing backflips throughout their round, drawing more than a few curious looks from their fellow competitors.

With changing jobs and our toddler being a menace right now, I wasnā€™t able to be involved this year. But, if this is the kind of thing we can expect in the coming yearsā€¦

pace of play is a problem at 100% of singles events so yeah may as well come to have a good time

Hi everyone! Just moved down to the Charlotte area from Northern New England. Wanted to stop by and introduce myself and start the #GetInvolved process with the local Roost. I think I saw a WhatsApp invite link above so Iā€™ll try that first. Looking forward to getting out on the course with everyone, cheers!

Anyone playing next Friday somewhere between Fayetteville and Raleigh? Iā€™ll be in town next week and have Friday openā€¦

Iā€™ll be around. Wont know if Iā€™ll be able to tee it up till later this week though

I have Friday open, but I think thatā€™s it. Maybe an evening sometime, but not sure

This is a hell of a post to get to sendā€¦but I managed to royally have my back screwed up by a chiropractor and am on the shelf for a few weeks, unable to play. So instead of immediately releasing them to the resort, thought I would post some tee times in the event someone on here can hop on and make use of them. All the times have 1 opening.

We have tee times on Thursday, August 10th for:

No. 4. - 8:10 AM
No. 3. - 3:04 PM

We have tee times on Friday, August 11th for:

No. 2. - 7:20 AM
Cradle - 2:00 PM

Anyone who picked up a tee time would be playing with my 3 golf trip buddies who are all good golfers (single diggies) and great hangs. In an ideal world, I can make the trip and just be a marker and walk aroundā€¦but that is still kind of up in the air. Currently, walking is a chore.

If you guys or anyone you know is interested in playing, let me knowā€¦no need to pick up lodging or anything but if you want to chip in on any sort of greens fees, that works.

what part of the back, I have a herniated disc right now (tale end of rehab) but there are a few things that help me to be able to bear it if need be ( I had pre paid a few times 2 weeks into it)

Unfortunately it is horrific spasmsā€¦like fall down to your knees and try not to pee your pants until they are gone. I had a CT and there wasnā€™t something like a fractureā€¦but then have an MRI on deck to see if it is something like you describe (disc, nerve, something else).

I had the spasms for the first week to 10 days ish. Completely feel you on that just getting up or trying to take a shit can become the worst thing in the entire world.

A tens device on the spot kinda helped with spasms a bit, but not really worth buying if you donā€™t have one already. I have been getting dry needle therapy for mine and its helped immensely if it ends up being soft tissue injury
